“This is our 'umpteenth visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2011

We returned as a family of 10 (grandparents, children and grandchildren) having been at Center Parcs many times since it first opened for weekend and one week holidays. The environment is delightful and there is always plenty to do for active people, both as paid events or enjoying walking and cycling in the forest. It is not a cheap holiday but I think it is value for money. Many of the retail and restaurant outlets had special offers and sales that helped keep the cost of shopping and eating out lower than previous years. Overall an excellent experience and we will return.

We stayed this week although we enjoyed the activites we did we were very disappointed with the villa 2 of the 4 bedrooms smelt of damp. The only way you could sleep in them was to leave the windows open. The cleaner that came on the last day admmited she had noticed this smell before but nothing had been done . To charge £1400 for a smelly ( possibly unhealthy) villa is a bit much.

Went to another Centre Parcs site a couple of years back and while it was expensive we had a great holiday as very clean a spacious. Arrived at this site and it generally needs to be ahut down and given a good once over so that those areas that the public sees and painted etc. And just a general bit of love and care. Now for the accommodation.... Floor not properly cleaned, tap in kitchen leaking, this concerns me as electrics are in the cupboard below, toaster still got breadcumbs on it, bedroom hasn't been dusted as headboard filthy, table had prevoius occupants hair on it, bathroon sink blocked with hair floating out the plughole, toilet door won't close. Will be contacting customer services this morning to see what they think of the place. If they are readimg this then it's 609 Mr Glover.

We stayed here for four nights and even though the weather was a mixture of sunshine and light rain my husband and I and our two children who are 12 and 9 thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were happy and helpful and the place was clean and green. All the meals we had were excellent, even in the family burger joint, which can sometimes be a bit hit and miss.

We went with some friends who stayed in a cabin near us in the Pines and we all had a fantastic time. Yes, you do end up spending a fair amount of money if you're not careful, but the pool is free and the kids spend loads of time there. The Jardin des Sports was very well equipped and I didn't mind spending money having the kids do things that kept them active and engaged. They certainly slept well at night!

We've been to Sherwood Forest Center Parcs before and thought that was great, but this was even better. We'll be back.

Some say the Centre Parcs are over priced but I would say they are good value. The shop is not expensive as some have said but reasonable and an excellent range. We were far away from the Pool and shops but the train is every 20 mins and biking only took 5 mins. It is well sign posted and the kids found there way around with no problems. I would recommend booking well in advance before you arrive for certain activities but you can book from Cabin whilst you are there. It says there is wifi in certain areas but we picked it up from where we were and could book from my iPad.

Room Tip: Last minute booking seems cheaper but all Dog cabins are long booked up. Bike hire is only £24 for y...

Have stayed at all Center Parcs villages on many occasions. This was the first time in a "Doggy Villa" Was disappointed with cleanliness of villa and the amount of wear and tear. Dog hairs on the table and on the throw overs on the beds of all places, and a bit nifty as well. Ended up spending 2 hours cleaning the place up. To be fair with staff who were incredibly polite, I was offered £85 off my next visit ie %10 back. Too late really.
Other than that, a great time was had by all, visiting Longleat, next door and several restaurants within
Lesson learnt, put the dog in kennels and go back to a standard villa.

Room Tip: Don't take the dog, other dog owners may have different standards

Thank you for your post and I am sorry that this visit was not as good as your previous visits. I can confirm that we do have certain lodges/villas that accommodate dogs and I regret yours was not as clean as you had expected.

Cleanliness and hygiene standards are most important to us and I have sent a copy of your views to the Housekeeping Manager at Longleat Forest.

I am pleased that my colleagues at Longleat were polite and compensated you for the inconvenience during your stay. Although I accept that this should not be necessary.

At Center Parcs we accept that the only way we will understand our guests views is by listening to guest feedback.

Thanks again and I genuinely hope that you will visit us again in the future.

Kind regards

Clare Seddon

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Redwood Apartments. Travel cot and high chair were provided and all the restaurants were extremely accommodating. The only niggle is that one is advised to book for a evening meal, let's be honest when you are on holiday "ad hoc" meals are far more likely. We ate in the Grand Cafe; Hucks (Dave the balloon man is fab!) and Cafe Rouge. All were reasonably priced at £50 for two/three course meal and a drink or two.

Room Tip: Make sure you are near the Village or Plaza if you do not want a trek or a long cycle!
