“Perfect Shortbreak”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

It was our first time in Center Parcs. I've heard a lot of positive comments from friends about it. So we were very excited to go and we weren't disappointed!!! Great value for money if you book midweek break. We have two small children who are not in school yet, so didn't matter when to go. We lived in a New Style Executive Villa. Lovely modern house with 2 bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen to high spec.
As we were not planning to cycle much because of the little baby, we paid extra to live closer to the plaza... it was totally worth it!!
Very impressed with the whole organisation. I would recommend to book activities before you travel as it gets busy quickly.
Took my little girl to a Ballet class and Teddy Bear picnic. She was very happy!
Aqua Sana was really great too.. strongly recommended!!:)
Definitely coming back again! Probably quite soon!!!

Room Tip: If you don't plan to cycle much it's worth paying for the middle area, to be closer to the P...

We return to Center Parcs Longleat every year, we always stay in a 3 bedroom woodland lodge, the accommodation is always clean and comfortable, and only a short walk from the Plaza. We have been lucky enough to see deer, squirrels, ducks, and various other wildlife from our bedroom window. My family enjoy cycling everywhere, dining out, swimming, and the crazy golf is always a favourite too. The Staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. For me it is an escape from reality, the forest and lake are so tranquil, and it's nice to get from traffic on the roads. This year we are planning to take our own bikes (in previous years we've hired them) as the land train doesn't run till late evening on Monday and Friday and the children get tired out walking everywhere. Dining out can be expensive but it's definitely worth the money. The quality of food in the restaurants is extremely good, we've never had a bad meal or experience. The family entertainment is also very enjoyable, last year we went to the Magic Show in the Pancake House, this was a firm favourite with the children and probably the highlight of their holiday!

Room Tip: It's worth having a look at the village map before choosing your accommodation, you can pay extr...

I went to Center Parcs Longleat with my husband and his two kids (4 &6) last September for five days. We were new to the Center Parc experience and admittedly, it was overwhelming!

We stayed in a two bedroom executive suite, a very short walk from the pool complex. Our accommodations were outstanding. We appreciated the daily cleaning service and it was great to have a kitchen to make our meals. A group of ducks visited us multiple times during the day.

We loved the pool, where we lived with the kids. They never wanted to leave. We rented towels every day and lockers. No problems.

We rented bikes, which was okay, but we would likely not do it again. Longleat is hilly and it wasn't always the most convenient to use the bikes.

We ate at Hucks ( very good), the cafe in the sports center (good) and my husband took the kids to the Pancake House. They liked the Pancake House, but we found it odd that it wasn't open for breakfast.

The grocery store is fantastic and we thought fairly reasonably priced. Next time, we are not fussing with bringing groceries from an outside store, we will just buy them there. It's easier, especially as we don't live in the UK.

We had our laundry done every day, but that requires getting up early and taking it to the services area, to have it delivered back to your cabin the same day. This was essential, as we were not heading back home after our time at Center Parcs.

We are already booked for our next Center Parcs vacation, this time at Elvenden and we are going next summer. Here is what we are doing differently, learning from our mistakes.

1. We have booked up activities for the kids. As much as they love the pool, we need a break! We have one or more things booked for every day of the trip.

2. Buy a spray cleaner and paper towels. We needed this!!!

3. We are going to find out all of the restaurant/delivery times in advance. Last time we tried to get pizza and it was closed. Bummer.

4. Bring movies for the kids to watch in the room at night.

5. We ordered a welcome food pack to make things easier.

6. Booked a week...five days was not enough!

We really had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!

This is my 15th year at Centerparcs, and 3 generations of my family have enjoyed yet another excellent break. We have been to 3 sites now (whinfell and sherwood) but always love to return to Longleat. And often the reasons that other people have perhaps given poorer reviews - the terrain, the space, the distance between venues- all add to the adventure for us. We usually hire bikes but this year having used the 10% off Halfords Voucher in the online newsletter (thank you Centerparcs!) we invested in a bike rack and brought our own. We love leaving the car behind and having 5 days of fresh air and adventrues, always followed up by a super delux hot chocolate. After 15 years of visits we know what works for us and how to enjoy Centerparcs to the full. We always bring a dish for the 1st night so that we can settle in and not worry about how long the Takeaway will take to arrive.
The Landtrain is a bonus if you don't have a bike, but yes it does get crowded and some journeys do takle a long time if you're going all the way round the site. There are ways of reducing it for example by getting off in Sports Valley and cutting through the Sports Bar (stopping for Hot Chocolate on the way obviously) worked for us when we were accommodated in the Oak area.
Overall Centerparcs is a fabulous family holiday if you have young (pre-school/primary) children. the facilities are fabulous for pushchair access and baby feeding stations are situated frequently. We pack our waterproofs and head out to the adventure palygrounds for hours of fun. And equally the sub tropical swim center has areas for all - my 4 year old loves the 2 slides specifically for his age group, while the 7 year old is confident enough to go down the rapids. The Lazy river rapids is suitable for all ages, and buoyancy jackets are available for the non-swimmers.
Just about to book using the Come Back Soon code for next year.
can't wait

Visited 10 -14.3.2014 with family including 14 month old granddaughter. Stayed in a 3 bed 2 storey executive villa and was impressed by the cleanliness and the facilities in the property, particularly the fact that all 3 bedrooms were en-suite.
Food venues were good and though not cheap we were pleased with the quality of the food and how pleasant the staff were.
We were fortunate that the weather was good so spent time walking around lake etc.
Only minor niggle was the pool changing area which was manic with people searching for changing cubicles and a shortage of family cubicles which are essential when you have a toddler to look after.
All in all a good break and I would return to this site.

Room Tip: We stayed near Plaza which was great for pool etc

Well where do I start, myself my husband and 2 Children had an amazing time in Center Parcs and can't wait to go back, check in was very easy and I think the time we arrived was spot on as we didn't have to queue to get to the car park. When we arrived we went straight to the plaza and had a bite to eat in Hawtons restaurant which was very nice, it was a little pricey but very nice, then we went swimming as we couldn't get into our room until 3 which wasn't a problem for us, when we did finally get to our lodge it was lovely and clean and the heating was on so it was lovely and warm it was surprisingly roomy we had plenty of room and the shower was fab much better than mine at home! My only negative was the beds, for us they were too soft, we like a firm mattress but apart from that the accommodation was great, we were in the Pine area which is only about 5-10 min walk to the plaza which was ideal for us with a 3 yr old and 10mth old... It seems a lot of ppl are complaining about the cost of the restaurants and supermarket, we found it slightly higher than normal but being on holiday we didn't mind, I would say be prepared i was and took loads of food and drink with us, in fact my car had more food and drink than luggage.. I took everything you could think of so we only went to the supermarket once and that was a loaf of bread, it seems we weren't the only people who took our own bottles of wine and beer, so stock up before you go.. While we were there we did the bowling twice which was great my son had so much fun and he also did the adventure golf which he also enjoyed, we also had a meal in Hucks and Strada both meals were great and they both have a children's soft play area which was great as my son could go off and play while we finished off our meal. Hucks also had a microwave which was used to heat up baby food which was a great idea especially as I needed to heat up my daughters food, they also had a table by the microwave with baby food and puddings which you could help yourself if you didn't have your own, it seems they thought of everything... All the staff we spoke to were very polite and helpful and had smiles on their faces, thanks center Parcs for a lovely family holiday can't wait to go back!
