“Another fab holiday at CP”

Fab Four night break. Starting with the early arrival, well worth getting in before the onslaught of cars at 3pm! We were unpacked and in the pool chilling out!

Hucks also offers great food with great service.

Aqua Sana afternoon spa is wonderful and the afternoon tea for two for £9.95 excellent!

Only moan is about the pool side cafe, staff miserable and service not great but didn't spoil our lovely break!

This was our 5th holiday to Center Parcs, but our first time to Longleat.
I will start by saying that we do love Center Parcs holidays, its lovely to be out so much in the forest and fresh air, peace and quiet, away from the car for a week, the restaurants are lovely and theres loads for our children to do for different ages (two teens and 8 year old).

Just beware if you have walking problems/in wheelchair at Longleat, it is very very hilly, as a lot of it is at the bottom of a big valley, there should be a warning on their website about it for disabled people as we would have gone to a different center parcs if we had known. They have tried to help the hills by making less steep ramps but it means much more walking by using the ramps as they zig zag down the valley, it wouldn't have been as bad if everything we were doing that week hadn't been down the valley which was the opposite side of the park to our villa. They do have a disabled mini bus to take you but we only found out about this 3 days into our holiday when a lovely waitress told us about it, even though I ticked disabled when registering our family Center parcs didn't bother telling us about the bus. Theres a land train that goes around the park which was a life saver towards the end of the week as I was in agony from walking by then but it regularly broke down during our week and isn't for wheelchairs and prams, plus it was always packed which wasn't helped by selfish people on it refusing to move up to let other people get on, you can easily fit 4 adults on each seat with little ones on laps but quite often a family of two adults would take up a whole row so others had to wait 20 minutes for the next one, so just move up to get everyone on. If you want a flatter park with less hills then go to Elveden forest, ive also been told Sherwood is quite flat but haven't been there myself. As much as the land train was good, the idea of Center parcs is to get away from the car/vehicle for the week so it defeats the object of that, plus is noisy when it regularly goes past the villa.

We stayed in a Woodland lodge which the last 4 times we have stayed in that type as its lovely but not as expensive as the bigger lodges, the beds were really comfy as always and lots of space in the villa, it was clean and the welcome pack we ordered was there waiting for us, its always great to have two toilets with 5 of us too and lots of space outside the back for the children to play.

The Jardin des Sports area was nice and the kids loved their activities and lovely to sit outside in the sun outside the sports café, theres also starbucks there and the small shop do sandwiches/snacks too which was great. Theres a huge childrens park next to the sports centre, the biggest we have seen at Center parcs, up the hillside on several levels and ideal for all different ages just a shame you cant relax and have a drink while they play as they aren't that close to each other. Theres also another park in the village square between pancake house and grand café but is in the trees so was very damp and no where for adults to sit (theres old rotten wet tree benches to sit on) which meant our daughter could only play when we were passing through.

We had a lovely meal at Grand Café, a lot of the portions were big especially the pie was huge and the staff were friendly. We booked the buffet and magic show at pancake house too, the magic show was great and magician was lovely we all enjoyed it but its a shame the food let it down, the dessert was lovely but main meals were not very nice and not what we had expected for the money we paid. We also ordered a Chinese takeaway to be delivered to the villa the first day, which was delivered on time and was lovely but was very expensive for what you get, we can get the same food from our local takeaway at home for less than half the price Center parcs charges, the pizza wasn't much more expensive but the Chinese was much more than we usually pay.

The swimming pool was clean and tidy, the cleaners were always in the changing area and lots of lifeguards around. We have been to Whinfell and Elveden center parcs the indoor pool are much better at those parks, but the outdoor pool at Longleat is better, so depends which you prefer, it was nice to have somewhere outside to relax on the sunbeds in the sun, you also need £1 for lockers here too. The wave pool at Longleat was rubbish it was barely a ripple in the water not waves at all, the waves at the other center parcs are much better so we were disappointed with that.

One thing we were not happy with was Center parcs staff coming into our villa doing inventory checks during our holiday, messing with all the kitchen stuff we had washed etc, this did really annoy us as the villas are empty for at least 4 hours every Monday and Friday so theres no reason why they cant do their checks then and not when guests are in the villa.

We had planned to book Center parcs again for Christmas as we did last year after our summer holiday we booked to go again last Christmas, but we are annoyed with the huge price hike this year, last year we paid £899 for Christmas, and this year they want £1250 for exactly the same week in the same villa!! £350 more!! so we wont be going for Christmas now, its not good that they are loosing regular guests because of their price hikes in school holidays.

We love Center parcs holidays but if they keep putting the prices up we will look elsewhere and because of the hills we wont rush back to Longleat again.

We went to Longleat safari park on the Monday before check in, which is a couple of minutes from Center parcs longleat on the same road.

Overall we had a good holiday and were very lucky with the good weather as its constantly rained since we got home.

Room Tip: Huge valley so if you don't want to walk or bike a long way up hills check the maps first so you...

A lovely 3 night w/e break in June with friends and children. Experienced the best customer service in a long time in all areas of the facility. Staff were so friendly and helpful and really seemed to enjoy their work. Thank you to the staff in the Pankcake house who could not do enough when my daughter fell over and hurt herself. Great facilites. The only small downside is the trek with little ones/prams etc as facility so large and if train is not running. But all in all a great break.

Overall the the short break was a really fun family time. The facilities and activities available are excellent. If you want to be really active and try lots of things it would be very expensive. The food was expensive and we took a large amount of groceries to mitigate the expensive eating out costs. We went to Strada one night but food was ok and expensive. The 3 bed lodge was clean and tidy if a little damp in the air. I guess in the middle of the forest this is to be expected. My main negative in amongst a fun time was the amount of bikes every where and no restrictions on the numbers of people riding on paths etc I had to rescue my 5 year old as a bike tried to beat another round a bend and was heading for her! The train was excellent and a central part of getting around the very large complex with 3 small children. I would definitely go again but would restrict the amount of activities and eating out due to the cost.

Room Tip: Book early to get a lodge close to the activity centres. Some lodges are a long way from the activit...

We have been going to Center Parcs for almost 17 years now and have just returned from another great visit. For a change we kept the activities for the afternoon, which meant that we could chill out a bit in the morning and so have a more restful weekend (something I would recommend). My only gripe was the outdoor archery. We have done this activity every time we have been to Center Parcs Longleat. However, I won't be doing it again. They have now allowed more people to use the facility which slows things up considerably. After the practice rounds we would normally get 6-8 rounds during the 'competition'. This time we had just 3 goes. I don't know if this is in response to demand or greed on the part of Center Parcs but it's not good value for money now and regrettably I won't be doing archery when I next visit Longleat!!!

A great break for me and my four kids. very active but loads to choose from. Just a few things they could brush up on.
Very slow service at the pool bar (1 hour wait for food)
Very pricey sports e.g £7 for 1/2 hour table tennis - at least make it an hour
Center Parcs BBQ packs are the only ones you can use and they rip you off royally for these hopeless items
Food and drink v v expensive

A beautifully wooded site with very comfortable accommodation and the usual center parcs activities. Unfortunately the venues are scattered and though I had paid to be a little closer the swimming pool was over a half an hours walk. The road train was excellent when it was running, but in the rain it was often full and there were breakdowns. Trains do not run on change over days ,but a mini bus can be ordered if you are not able to walk to the car park. When you book take note of the distances and the slopes if you are not an athlete!
