Paradise is the only way to describe Che Shale, all you have to do is follow the coconut road.
The owners and staff make you feel as part of the family, the food and service is amazing, the atmosphere tranquil and there is something to do for everyone,
Accomodation is first class.
I kitesurf and rate the spot as one of the best, if you want to learn its the place to go to. The instructor is very professional and always safety first,
Amazing place, going there again in July,
Hope to see u there!

I just returned from two weeks in Kenya of which the first 5 days I stayed at Che Shale. It was my second visit.Last year I travelled with my husband, this year on my own. The location is off the beaten track and feels beautifully isolated but at the same time very safe. I stayed in both the Che Shale and Kajama bandas - both are well designed and comfortable. Staff are friendly and smiley without being in your face and the owners go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and at home. The main purpose of my trip was kitesurfing. Conditions are perfect for beginners, intermediate and advanced alike and there is no need to fight for space. Kitesurf heaven! I'm sure I will keep on going back for more.

Che Shale was everything we expected and more. Unfortunately we had only booked 3 nights and moved onto another property thinking that the children would like more to do and perhaps a pool - how wrong we were. The sea and beach were safe and free of pushy beach pedlars. The food was excellent and really varied, The staff were always on hand but not intrusive. We would love to return one day.

Top notch. Laid back AND efficient - a difficult trick to pull off. Great location, great food, great accommodation. The ONLY place to be on the Kenyan coast. Safe sea, secure beach (miles of deserted sand). Activities if you want them; peace and seclusion if that's your bag. Searching for constructive criticism (and you have to work at coming up with stuff), a more detailed initial briefing might have been helpful; occasionally one or two of the waiters are a bit glum (most are fantastic); and a booking system for that wonderful big swing seat on the beach might prevent that towel-bagging thing. But these are nitpicks. Visit the dunes and the school (see photos). An have a massage to make you EVEN more relaxed.

This is a nice beach side resort in a very quiet setting on the Indian Ocean, just North of Malindi, Kenya. The accommodation is quite funky but very nice and comfortable. The food is extremely well prepared and the service staff, while attentive, are not overly so. In the evenings a beach side fire is lit which combined with the ocean surf is quite compelling. A wind surfing centre is attached to the resort and the swimming in the surf is excellent. The only negative that I can point out is, due to the remote location, the water for showering is salty. Bottled water is provided for tooth brushing etc.

Room Tip: If a fresh water shower is a necessity...book in the rainy season. :-)
