I have visited the New Inn on at least 5 occasions and I must say that the food is excellent, when I was first invited I thought the usual pub food would be there to greet me, how wrong, the menu is superb, the bucket of mussels (1KG) are second to none, Devils kidneys, not to everyone's taste are simply brilliant (try them to test yourself, you may actually like them) they are stunning, and that is before the mains, the steaks are always cooked as requested and are comparable to any steak house, for a place not that close to the sea the fish and chips are stunning, homemade tartare sauce does it, simply, if in the area, do this place, you will not regret it

The New Inn is tucked away, but has a good sized car park. The interior is larger than it looks, traditionally furnished and cosy. The man and wife team, with a family of staff are welcoming and cheerful. The local ales are top quality(Wadworths) and there is a very good wine list. The food is all cooked freshly from the best ingredients and by the chef(himself) who also develops the recipes. I had squid salad with garlic and chili, superb! Then a Megrim sole, which is most similar to Dover sole and I prefer these to lemon sole. A good example of going that little extra to source quality west country fish. My wife had one of the best sirloin steaks in her life. Real char-grilled, very tasty and a good size. All the veg is fresh and the service is freindly and smiling. What not to like??

We went on a Saturday lunch time on our way to Bradford on Avon, which is just five minutes up the road. We rang before hand to ask if they allow dogs, and they do. The menu is good with an A la carte menu and a specials board although I would say more 'Pub' food than 'Gastro pub' food. A good selection of local beers and cider and a couple of decent lagers. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our dog had a bowl of water delivered shortly after we arrived which was a nice touch. The food was good and there was a lot of it. This is a pretty little pub which serves good pub food at a very reasonable price. The staff were very attentive and polite. We had four mains, four pints of beer and a coke for a little over fifty quid, you really can't beat that. The only negative is there is only one ladies loo and its up a spiral stair case which is where you have to wait if its occupied.

Lovely, friendly, busy pub with a good menu choice. Great atmosphere, good service and scrummy food. Just one small mention - the starters and desserts were perfect for our party of six but a couple of the main dishes were a tad bit salty for personal tastes - however, not enough to put us off returning to The New Inn now that we have discovered it. Heartily recommend.
