“FAB FAB FAB HEN!!”
Reviewed 22 May 2012

New owners Sue & Dave have absolutely created the perfect place to stay near Bath. We were away for my mums Hen do so 10 women ranging from 23-63!! We were amazed by the luxury of the barn whilst still keeping the original features such as beams etc... we loved every second & will all be returning with husbands/boyfriends/children/pooches hopefully very very soon. If you are looking for somewhere which is 5* & reasonably priced you HAVE to stay here xx

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful!

The new owners, Sue and Dave, have done a wonderful job of changing a B & B into a boutique self catering business. The Barn is light and airy with huge comfy beds and White Company linen. There was a roaring fire to welcome us and the clotted cream tea was a lovely touch. We needed a work out in the gym and a sauna to work of the calories afterwards!

Would definitely come back another time - so much to do!

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely, my favourite was the twin with antique french beds

My Partner and I spent one night at Leigh House (wish it could have been more). Everything was perfect. The Hosts, food, setting, bedroom. We had a lovely evening chatting with other guests in front of a roaring fire. Then walked into town for dinner. Next time we will enjoy the dinner they offer at Leigh House as I'm sure it is as wonderful as the breakfast was. We will be back and have been highly recommending it to friends.

This was our third visit and just as good as always. Alan and Peter run a wonderful Bed & Breakfast. It is perfect for couples & groups. the house is wonderfully appointed with a great barn conversion with a cosy living room and dining area.
Alan is a superb cook and, for an extra cost, will prepare dinner - 3 courses and wine!
we highly recommend Leigh House.

Sue T, Owner at Leigh House, responded to this review, 14 February 2013
Thank you for reading these reviews. However please note an ownership change as of September 2010 and a difference in our business model. We offer boutique self catering in both the Barn and Bake House and we are no longer a Bed and Breakfast, nor do we offer evening meals. Thank you.

Leigh House offers boutique self catering in two period properties. The Barn is an 18th Century barn and hayloft conversion and has 4 double and one twin room all ensuite. It is sympathetically decorated throughout in a French Farmhouse style with a bit of an English twist! The Bake House is a 15th Century cottage with stone floors and walls offering one large triple room (king and a single) and a double room sharing a bathroom. Both properties sit around a courtyard with the main house and work beautifully as either single dwelling or with up to 15 guests shared between them. The extensive grounds are beautifully landscaped and the Bake House has its own walled Victorian garden with rose arbours and a pottager. The former Dairy has been converted to a large gym and games room overlooking the paddock and has a beautiful sauna to relax in and offers guests unlimited usage.Guests are welcomed on check in usually with home made scones and jam, perhaps some eggs from the hens or a basket of produce from the garden. Linen changes are offered for stays of 11 days or more. ... more   less
