I found this B&B quite by chance on the internet when I needed a place to meet up with family in nearby Bath and I am so glad that I did! Herb Cottage is a perfect place to stay. Suzanne Wise is the proprietor and is a lovely lady - very friendly and helpful but also discreet, eager to help you get the most out of your stay in the area and a mine of information. The warmth and sincerity with which we were received was truly wonderful.
The rooms are very comfortable and decorated to a high standard and are en suite. The double bedroom is light and airy with an en suite shower room and double doors that open onto the most spectacular view across golden wheat fields and rolling hills. The view goes on forever! The twin room was spacious and comfortable (en suite with a huge bath and power shower) with lovely views across the garden and onto the fruit trees in the garden. All that can be heard is birdsong. The beds were very comfortable and made up with crisp linen - we both slept like logs.
A delicious breakfast was served with organic produce, bacon, eggs, tomatoes etc, yoghurt with muesli and/or seeds and toast with the bonus of homemade rhubarb compote and marmalade. It kept us going until well into the afternoon!

After the madness of Bath in high season, Herb Cottage was so tranquil and restorative. Bradford on Avon is a charming and picturesque town with lots of history and plenty of places to eat out although we chose the Plough pub at the end of the road from Herb Cottage where we had a fantastic meal. Suzanne very kindly rang ahead and booked a table for us.
Suzanne's attention to detail and personal touch really does make the difference between a good stay and a great one.
Thank you so much for your hospitality Suzanne, our only complaint is that we couldn't stay for longer. We hope to see you again before too long.More
