“Great campsite!”

We would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay in September at Merkins Farm. Apart from the wonderful views and tranquility of the surrounding countryside, good shower and toilet facilities and very welcoming hosts in Jon and Hayley,we took full advantage of the superb cafe situated at the top of the site. Only using local produce, the food is delicous and the decor in the cafe must be seen! Its a fantastic place to stay for sightseeing many places of interest within the local area with Bath only a few miles down the road. We will be returning to Merkins Farm next year for another wondeful stay.

sad to say, not the best stay ever. Noisy children cycling around the site at high speed, more noisy children running around, dogs barking all the time. Some people looking like they were living there permanently.
Started to look like a travelers site. Owners, didn't really care about the noise issues, wouldn't go back, or recommend.

Decided to try breakfast here today.

£5.95 gets you a plateful of delicious, sausage, bacon, beans, tomato, mushroom, hash browns, thick toast with butter and oh yes let's not forget their own free range egg. Mrs J opted for the vegeterian option at £5.75, equally as delicious!

Fantastic welcome and service throughout and also open on a Sunday from 9 to 5pm

Great service, great value and great tasting food...

Will be trying their lunch menu next time.

We stayed in Tickleberry Cottage for a week in July and had a wonderful time. The cottage was beautifully clean, with lovely furnishings throughout and a stunning view from the livingroom. It was very well equipped and despite the rain we all enjoyed our stay very much. Hayley, Jon (and their daughters!) were great hosts - clearly keen to see that everything was ok with our stay, but never intruding on our privacy. We only visited the cafe on the last morning and then wished we'd gone sooner (although if I had, I think my waistline might have seriously suffered!) they do a cracking breakfast and the staff were so friendly we didn't want to leave! Well done to all at Merkins Farm - you deserve every success.

We have just come home from Merkins farm after a few days away, I cannot rate it highly enough we had our own touring caravan and the beauty of it is we did not have to cook our own breakfast, just over the road to the best cafe ever. Home made cakes were just delicious and the staff were all friendly and took the time to talk to us. Next time we are going to stay in the cottages because they looked so lovely, Showers and toilets were clean and tidy and always stocked with paper that is hard to find on a site. we have our own bed and breakfast and needed a few days away to re charge our batteries, and sometimes you need some one to look after you, that is certainly what we found here nothing was too much trouble. Lovely views Lovely people and What can I say about the cakes !!!!! we will be back to pile on the pounds

This tea shop/cafe is a hidden gem!
The cakes are all home made (quite rare in the Bradford on Avon area) and the staff are so lovely and friendly. It is on the side of a camping field so does a really good bacon roll for a breakfast. Nearby is the Wiltshire cycle way and it is an idea place to stop and recharge so you are ready for the next leg of your cycle tour.
I havent seen the cottages but I should imagine they are lovely as there has been a great deal of care taken in the decor of this cafe (kitsch and sweet).
Highly recommended.
