We stayed here with our son, daughter and their families to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversay. Our party included a 6 week old, 6 month old and 3 year old. The ambience of the place was infectious and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Nothing was too much for the staff who made us all feel at home. The food was excellent and there was plenty for everyone to do. A true family hotel!

This was an excellent choice for a short break with a toddler. The free creche is a great idea and allowed us some time to unwind. The spa and swimming pool are also good. It is a period building with all that that implies - room layouts may seem odd, but it all adds to the character. Bradford on Avon is a charming town rather like a small version of Bath, and there is plenty more to explore in the vicinity. The hotel restaurant provided us with two excellent meals and all in all were were pleased with the service and friendliness of the hotel.

I was treated to a Spa day recently and from the moment we walk into the hotel until we left we could not of wished for a better time. The Spa facilities were amazing and fully recommend it to anyone who is looking to unwind and relax, and the outside pool is a must. The food and service were fantastic and fully recommend the afternoon tea to everyone. We could not praise the staff anymore on the day as they were very helpful and went out of there way to make our day feel special. We do have children but on this occasion we came on our own and fully recommend it, but we will definitely return again this time with our children as there is so much for them to do.

I wish to thank everyone at the hotel for all there help and look forward to returning again shortly.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night. The hotel is true to its rating (if not better), the quirky character and lay out is fun and there are lots of places for children to explore and enjoy, our room was in keeping with the house and very comfortable. Food was great, with various menus to suit children and adults. The staff could not have been friendlier and helpful. The gardens are beautiful, we loved the natural wicker den in the play area and the little play shop in the walled garden. The indoor pool/sauna/stream room was luxurious, unfortunately I didn't manage to get an appointment at the spa but next time I'll book earlier!
We will definitely be back. I grew up near Bath and know the surrounding area well. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much Bradford-on-Avon has grown and improved - well worth a shopping trip!

Had a fantastic 3 night stay in June 2012 with our 18 month old twin boys. The hotel is brilliant for children, with so much for them to do. Creche, indoor pool and variety of outdoor play areas kept the children entertained the whole time. The service and children's menus were excellent and nothing was too much bother for the staff.
Also great for parents, with the baby listening service in the evening and fantastic food, as well as a great new spa.
Hadn't realised there could be a hotel this well suited for families. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Ask for the newly refurbished rooms.

I visited this hotel over 10 years ago and I have such happy memories of it. My whole family had such a lovely time there and I still think of it to this day, the warm friendly hospitality, amazing food, the love and attention paid, I have never found another place quite like it. Being dog lovers my family found it especially lovely to be in a relaxed and beautiful environment where our furry members of the family could enjoy the surroundings just as much as the adults and us kids could. I have extra special memories of it as it was the last big family celebration we had together before my father passed away. It is really lovely to see that it hasn't changed much since then and still upholds its high standards. I cant wait to take my partner there and hope that one day we may be able to celebrate something special there too. I look forward to visiting again soon!

Room Tip: All rooms are very comfy, large and hospitable. Upstairs rooms offer fabulous views.

We stayed for two nights in July 2012 with our eight month old twin boys, we chose the package that includes evening meals. We stayed in the Groom double room, which has a small side room/annex, where our boys slept. The room was not one of the reburbished ones, but was clean, large and in good condition, and had a very large bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. We made good use of the indoor heated pool, and free nursery. There is a brand new spa with cafe. The restaurant food was excellent, and there was lots of children's plastic cutlery, beakers etc to borrow. The hotel needed a tiny bit more cosmetic work (e.g. blinds in the conservatory were worn) but overall this hotel was not half as beaten up as some older reviews suggest. It is expensive, but we made good use of everything and so I think got better value for money. A couple of tips, they do late bookings, so if you ring on a Thursday and there are rooms free for the weekend you can sometimes negotiate a discount. Restaurant gets very busy as locals also eat there - so book your table time on arrival if you don't want to eat late. Overall, if you want a hotel with character, where they make you feel very welcome, and don't mind the price, and a few patched curtains, then you will probably enjoy this place.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different because it is an old manor house. Phone up and they will talk you throug...
