“A nice stay away.”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

We stayed at The Beeches because it was near to family. We had an outside room which was dog friendly. The room was initially cold but we soon got the heating on and warmed up. There was a games room which was well used and had a fridge in it for our use. Parking was ample but we were unable to park next to the room. The only fault was a lack of walks for doggy, otherwise a very pretty place to stay.

Dear little1_77,

Thank you so much for leaving your review.

We are so sorry that you found the room initially cold. Check-in is from 4pm so heating is switched on shortly before this. Perhaps you may have arrived earlier or even without a prior reservation. Guests have control of the heating in the room and it can be turned be turned up or down depending on your requirements.

For aesthetic reasons and for the safety of children and free ranging animals we do not allow parking outside the the rooms in the 'farmyard'. Any parked car would block access to other rooms and self catering cottages for loading, unloading and for emergency access. The 'car park' is a matter of yards away from the rooms.

Although there are only a couple of walks directly from The Beeches Farmhouse there are a multitude along the canal, river and in the surrounding lovely Wiltshire countryside.

We are so pleased you found The Beeches 'a pretty place to stay' and hope you will return soon.

Kind regards, Pauline & Nigel

I stayed here for just one night in January 2014. I was on my own. I liked this B&B. The room was very clean and nicely furnished with a farmhouse feel (not surprising as it is a farm!). The drinks stations was nicely stocked with a few little snacks and bottled water which was a nice touch. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was clean and had an excellent choice of soaps and toiletries. Another nice touch.

There was no WiFi in the room and the mobile phone signal was very weak but this didn't bother me for one night but if I were staying longer I would have wanted WiFi. I seem to remember it being advertised so perhaps it was affected by the flood too?

I charged my electric car at their electric car charging station with is the main reason I chose here but now I have stayed I would be very happy to stay there regardless of whether car charging was available.

All in all a nice, relaxing stopover. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars is that they could not offer me breakfast because the recent rains have flooded the kitchen. I know that isn't directly there fault but a breakfast would have been nice and the owner was very apologetic.

Stayed for a weekend and couldn't have asked for a friendlier, cleaner and cosier place to stay. Bradford on Avon is a treasure in its self and heartily recommend having a Pie at the local pub. Pauline was very helpful and always on hand for any tips or guidance. We were recommended not to attempt to walk in to town from the B&B as the road is a bit 'dangerous', very wise to follow that advise and get a taxi (£4.20)! The breakfast (full English) was hearty and filling, setting us up nicely for the days sightseeing and great eating while watching the chickens roaming around.
Thank you for a great weekend.

Ideally located just outside BoA, ideal for visiting nearby towns and villages. We spent 2 nights in the Farmhouse room which was large, comfortable and importantly (due to our cold wet weekend) well heated too. The owner was very friendly and helpful, particularly with tips for local eateries. She also provided us with a superb farmhouse breakfast each morning, as well as a wide choice of cereals and preserves, served in the conservatory. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights in the Old Dairy and it was just lovely. Very clean and cosy with loads of character. Pauline was really friendly, making us a nice breakfast one morning. Very close to Bath as well; we got the train from Bradford-on-avon which was just one stop. Would definitely recommend this B&B.

I can't fault this B&B, we stayed in the farmhouse room and it was big and very comfy with a nice deep bath. The owners are super friendly and the breakfasts excellent, and it's good fun to stay on a farm with dog, cats, chickens and goat all very friendly and interested in saying hello to the guests. One thing to mention is that if you're not bringing a car you will need to climb over a fence and traipse through a field to get to the B&B as there is no pavement on their section of (fast!) road. For us, this added to the fun and the pleasure of staying in the countryside but make sure you bring suitable footwear. There are other footpaths leading into BoA that take a bit longer but then you don't need to limb over a fence. A taxi from BoA station is about 7 quid and it's very doable to visit the town and take day-trips to Bath and go for walks on a carfree holiday. I'd definitely recommend this B&B.

Stayed for 2 nights with 3 friends in The Milking Shed. We were visiting the Thermae Bath Spa and wanted to stay somewhere pretty just outside Bath. Everything about The Beeches Farmhouse was spot on - location (lovely walks in the area, great pubs, handy for visiting Bath), clean and comfy room and superb breakfasts. There was even a fruit basket in the room, complementary bottled water, locally made biscuits and fudge! Very reasonable too. Pauline and family were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back with with the family, who will love the animals and the games room.
