I and my family stayed here for 2 nights whilst moving house. The place is full of character, uneven floors, squeaking floorboards and lots of original features. But what you gained in character, you lost in clean finishes and simple detials. Shame someone has added varnished yellow pine furniture in some open areas.

The Up: The restaurant, whilst not cheap, was excellent. The chef is to be commended and the waiting staff were very good and able to judge their customers well.

The Down: One evening no hot water but worse, no plan to help customers who needed to clean up. We had to press hard twice before the management came up with a totally acceptable plan. But why did we have to press to get any action? On the 2nd morning the corridor looked as if a troop of flies had died and fallen on the carpet; not so pleasant and surely the person who delivered morning papers to rooms should have noticed and done something about this.

Sorry, but the above undermined what was a pleasant stay.

Thank you for your recent review. I was glad to read that you found our hotel full of character with its traditional features and period elegance.

I was also glad to read that you thoroughly enjoyed dining in our Conservatoire Restaurant and have passed on your comments to the chef and all members of staff that helped make your dining experience excellent.

Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by any lack of hot water during your stay but it is good to know that the management came up with a solution to find an alternative arrangement. I would like to assure you that this has now been investigated and the fault rectified. I would also like to take this opportunity to confirm that all public areas including corridors are vacuumed every day and that the night porter had instructed the morning cleaners to prioritise that particular corridor that morning, but only when all guests had checked out as not to disturb anyone.

Should you require accommodation in the area at any future point please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be only too pleased to arrange a booking on your behalf and I can assure you of a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Thank you for choosing the Best Western Leigh Park Hotel, we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

After staying in many hotels on business and personal trips I have to say this hotel falls very short of my expectations. A very small room with many faults , very noisy hotel , very expensive bar ( especially being charged £8.25 for a pint of lager and half a coke, overcharged by £3.00 which I did get refunded after querying it twice )!, expensive room , expensive buffet breakfast (£24 for two) .... I could go on and on.. It looks pretty on the outside but it is no way worth the room rate of over £100 pr night with breakfast . Definately seen better .

Thank you for your recent review. I was very disappointed and surprised to read that you found the hotel fell below your expectations and very noisy. We pride ourselves on our standards of quality and service along with offering our guests all the comforts for an enjoyable and restful stay.

The hotel is a period property with many traditional features and original rooms which we feel are a positive aspect to the hotels portfolio of room types. We offer standard and deluxe rooms that may vary in size but are furnished with all the facilities and amenities that a guest requires during an overnight stay. Please accept my sincere apologies if this was not the case during your visit, if you had reported your findings to the reception or our management team I can assure you that we would have investigated and rectified any shortcomings to ensure you a comfortable and peaceful night.

I would also like to apologise for the mistake made when charging for the drinks, but would like to assure you that the prices charged for drinks and breakfast are in line and competitive with all other local establishments. Our full English buffet breakfast has a wide variety of items available and include bacon, sausage, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, as well as kippers and haddock, fresh seasonal fruit, a selection of cereals, cold meats and cheeses, wholemeal or white toast and a selection of freshly brewed teas and coffee. I would like to assure you that we would never compromise any guests stay in anyway whatsoever.

Should you require accommodation again in the area please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the hotel and I will be only too pleased to organise a booking on your behalf and assure you of a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Thank you for choosing the Best Western Leigh Park Hotel and I look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Stayed here for 2 nights 22nd/23rd march, nice hotel friendly staff breakfast very good evening meals excellent, dinning in the conservatory lovely atmosphere & views over the large garden. Our room was in the coach house annex not a large room but warm and cosy.(thankfully it was a very bitter cold weekend ) Bradford on Avon very quaint, try the Bridge tea rooms the food and service very good (the waitresses all dressed as Victorian maids) Bath is only 8 miles away and a must visit when in this area.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main hotel are a lot larger than the coach house

I had cause to stay in BoA on a recent business trip - I normally stay at another hotel in the area, but thought I would give this a go as we had a works function here a couple of years back, and whilst I did not stay, liked the look of the place, and there was a good deal on the room rate. Nice grounds, imposing building, parked out the front and was greeted by friendly reception staff. I was given a room on the ground floor by reception - not really very big, but adequate, with a good size bed and a nice view. It was quite late when I arrived, and had some work to do - this was problematic however, as the Wifi coverage did not appear to extend to my room (even though the code was provided on a card) - I could just get signal if I stood on a chair with my iPad in the air, but it was slow - so I worked offline. I know it's difficult to kit older buildings out with wireless, but I think rooms where it is unusable should be marked. I finally went into the bathroom quite late for a shower.... to discover that the used soap from the last guest was still in the shower soap rack. I then went to use the pedal bin, and discovered that the cleaner had put a new transparent bag in, but left the existing part filled bag below it! - and the contents were not something I really wanted to see. Finally, there were a load of dead flies in the corner of the bathroom window, and one of the lights did not work. Shower pressure and temperature were poor, but to be expected in an older building.
Nevertheless, had a decent sleep, had to leave really early so missed breakfast.
Not sure if I will stay again - a bathroom with issues is a real turn off. Shame, as it's a popular hotel, well located, and a favourite for weddings and parties - so a much lower score than I anticipated :(

Room Tip: Don't take room 23 on the ground floor if you want to use the Internet!

Thank you for your recent review. I was glad to read that you found the hotel exterior and grounds aesthetically pleasing and in keeping with our period property and that you were greeted in a welcoming and friendly manner.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the way in which your bathroom was prepared prior to your arrival. I have spoken with the head housekeeper and she was horrified to be informed of your comments and findings, she also would like to offer her most profuse apologies and assure you that this was an extremely rare occurrence as our dedicated housekeeping staff have very high standards and they are all most disappointed that items were overlooked and that your experience fell below our very own high standards.

The hotel is a traditional property with traditional features and we offer extensive complimentary WiFi coverage throughout, however over the past few days we have experienced some disruption to this service. I can assure you that this has now been rectified and the coverage is back to maximum strength.

I do hope that you will consider staying with us again and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you back to the Leigh Park Hotel so that we can meet in person and offer you my sincere apologies and also to extend our hospitality to you.

Should you be visiting the area again in the future please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the hotel and I will be only too pleased to organise a booking on your behalf.

Thank you for choosing the Best Western Leigh Park Hotel and I look forward to meeting with you and welcoming you back soon.

First of all the plusses. The room, although very small, was clean and comfortable and looks as if fairly recently decorated although there were some broken fittings.Tea and coffee supplied plus bath accessories.
Very pleasant dining area overlooking the grounds and a good breakfast, nicley cooked and plenty of choice.
However, I do not know how long the Best Western has owned this hotel but corridors and some of the fittings and decor show signs of being in need of refurbishment. The day we arrived we discovered that the kettle would not work as there was a loose wire so we took it to reception to report it. It was taken away by a young lad and we later found it had simply been been placed back in our room not mended. This was a dangerous piece of equipment which could have caused a fire. I took it back to reception on the way to breakfast the next mornong and a very helpful gentleman took it away and mended it properly.
We were there for 3 nights and the water was never hot enough for a bath. The shower was difficult to operate and the showerhead angle was such that the bathroom got soaked all the time.
Also there was a dispute re the bill upon checking out with the rate not being what I thought I had booked. The issue here was that the paperwork could not be found and I was told that they would "honour my word". I found this quite condescending.
Because of these issues I have marked it down - even for a three star hotel we did find a lack of attention to detail in some areas

I can assure you that we welcome all reviews and guest comments so that we can maintain and improve our standards and services, along with anticipating the changing needs of all our guests. As with all period properties we operate an on-going maintenance and refurbishment schedule to ensure all the facilities are kept to our high standards for all guests to enjoy. Our maintenance team have now rectified the issue with the hot water and are also looking into a solution to repositioning the shower head so that all future guests do not experience a similar situation, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
I believe the hotel’s general manager has written to you directly regarding the misunderstanding with your bill and I hope this has now been rectified to your satisfaction, if this is not the case please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be only too happy to resolve any outstanding issues there may be.
