As we live in Frome we often walk the canal path at Bradford when the weather is fine and I had always assumed that the Canal Tavern served standard precooked chain pub food. So it was an unexpected surprise, when we had lunch there with my brother who was travelling the canal to find that the menu is varied and reasonably priced and the food was really rather good. I had the pumpkin tagine which was served with Greek yoghurt, flatbread and a side salad, my sister in law had spinach and chicken lasagne which had lots of cheese sauce and was a bigger portion than she could manage and my brother and husband both had hamburgers which they pronounced very good. With drinks the bill came to around £30 which we thought very reasonable.
