“Appalling service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

Arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night, eventually got served with a drink and asked for a menu and was told to go and find one. Negotiated borrowing from a table and went to the bar to order food at 7.30pm and was told no food was being served as they were too busy.
What a poor way to run a pub and lost business. The other tables around experienced the same problem. Never mind went in to the Lock Inn Cafe and had a great meal which was more cost effective and more hospitable.

“Good food after a long cycle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

After cycling from Bath I was looking forward to some good food, and this place does not disappoint, the bread with various dippings was superb, possibly too much, but at least I gave it a good go, the mains tipped me towards a burger, cooked well, this is new age food, it was excellent, slightly pink in the middle which is a massive plus as appose to the over cooked, I tend not to do desserts, savoury for me, but this is a good eatery, not the same class as the New Inn but well worth a visit

“Friendly service & good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

We visited this pub during the recent sunny bank holiday weekend. It was very busy and is obviously a very popular pub with a lovely setting besides the canal. The bar offers a good selection of beers, ales and ciders, many of them local.
The young staff were very friendly and despite how busy they were the level of service was very good. The menu offered a broad choice at a reasonable price, we chose the burger and it was very good with excellent chunky chips.
We will definitely be going back!

“Sunday lunches”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

Very friendly busy pub with a good choice on the menu, no problems in finding a meal to suite. The staff were busy and service tended to be on the slow side. Good choice of wine by the glass.

“Great place for a roast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

went here for a roast with my partner, she had chicken and I nut roast, both were great, they were happy to add Yorkshire puds for us too. We shared a desert of the cheese cake which was possibly the the best (unbaked) one i've ever tried. All together with coffees, glass of wine and soft drinks it came to £35, Will definitely come here again.
