“Special location”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This is in one of the most special locations which I have ever stayed in - the rows of houses without roads are quiet and elegant, with small, pretty gardens and great views. It is hard to escape from the cliche that it is like stepping back in time...
Inside, the decor and artwork are a delight; elegant, cosy and welcoming. It is well equipped, too.
There are some practical issues which people probably need to be aware of:
the walk from the car isn't great on a rainy day - mainly because it is a bit steep and slippy with a big case
the bed is a bit hard to get into on one side, too, as it is against the wall
some more reading lights wouldn't go amiss.
But I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place - and would love to stay again.

“A wonderful place to stay in an enchanting town”
Reviewed 21 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

10 Tory was our "home" for a week while my family explored southeastern England and Wales. Our kids are 12 and 9 years old so we just barely fit in the two rooms, but we were very thankful for the luxuries of the patio area, kitchenette, and clothes washer. Staying in a weaver's cottage was an adventure in itself! The hike from the train station involved steep hills, narrow stairways, and walkways through impossible terraced gardens which the kids enjoyed conquering (the walk from the parking lot at the top of the hill is both less exciting and less exhausting; get a cab from the train station if climbing the hill with luggage is too daunting). Every morning we enjoyed the glorious view with our tea and coffee (provided) before setting out for the day. The train ride to Bath is very easy and we also took the train to Cardiff. We got a car and drove about 45 minutes to Stonehenge and made a loop from there to Avebury and Lacock. Bradford on Avon itself is a remarkable town. We enjoyed walking from the flat to visit the medieval buildings, some great restaurants, the city park and playground, and walking along the Avon Canal to Avoncliff. There are also a few grocery stores within walking distance so we were able to cook a few meals at "home." The neighborhood is very quiet with the notable exception of occasional church bells. Overall, 10 Tory provided a very comfortable accommodation in a spectacular location.

“Comfortable & Good Value”
Reviewed 9 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

These former weaver's cottages are situated on the Tory Terraces above the town and whilst it is a good hike up to No. 10 (foot access only), the views and situation make the effort very worthwhile. We self-catered during our 2 nights here and found the kitchen to be well equipped. There is a good off-licence in town with some interesting real ales, so need to go pub hunting unless you want to!

“Lovely place to stay for all sorts of breaks”
Reviewed 25 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This is the 3rd year in a row we are staying here.
Though a lot of guests at 10 Tory stay here for shorter breaks we find there are lots of things to see and do in the area to stay here for longer.
BOA itself has quite a few lovely shops and pubs to visit and is ideal for walking. It's also the perfect base to discover National Trust, English Heritage or other properties in Wiltshire or Somerset.
As the kennet and avon canal cycle path is around the corner you could also go and cycle to Bath. Coming from the Netherlands we are spoiled for cycle paths and if you have a choice we would recommend mountainbikes. On the way back from Bath we suggest you take the two tunnels path. You cycle through and old railway tunnel, magnificent!
When you are tired of shopping, walking and cycling 10 Tory is a great place to relax too. You might even only do that :-)

“Unique & special spot, exactly as described!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

10 Tory is a special spot, and the description provided is very accurate. It is a quiet little hideaway, but within easy walking of Bradford on Avon town centre. You need to be able to handle walking a distance up/down hill to/from your car or town, but this all added to the character and charm of the location for us. It is a great place to explore the myriad things to see and do in the area, whether on foot, by car, or even by boat!
It was a peaceful and restful spot for us to return to, with its own view of the Cherhill white horse in the distance. The steep terraces of cottages were full of interest and charm, and a real suntrap. The location adds to the sense of discovery and exploration, but could just as easily be somewhere a couple could hole up for some quality time together.
Everything provided is of good quality, wonderfully clean and bright, and attractive. Masses of information was provided on things to see and do, and on every aspect of the accommodation, plus local support numbers.
There is no question that this is a real "find" for the traveller looking for something just a little out of the ordinary and special. Enjoy!
