I took my mum here for an impromptu brunch and had a wonderful meal in a lovely location. I chose the Eggs Royale which was a really large portion with oodles of delicious Hollandaise sauce. Mum had the lighter, healthier Tuscan salad which was equally appealing. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the riverside location is a real bonus. Glad to see it survived the floods unscathed!
If you compare the menu to well-known chain bistros, Sebastien's is infinitely better value. The portions are far more generous, you can be sure all of the dishes and sauces are prepared on-site, the prices are actually LOWER and most importantly you have the friendly, personal service of an independent business. Lucky old Bradford-on Avon!

I have eaten here many times, most notably with a large group of friends at new year, the food is consistently excellent and original.
The staff are relaxed and friendly, the wine good value and the atmosphere relaxed.
There is a large choice of places to eat in bradford on avon, but Sebastiens, for me, is consistently at the top.
It also does the best Latte for miles, perfect for when you fancy a coffee on a saturday morning, as I frequently do.

We live locally and have been meaning to try Sebastiens since it opened. It occupies a prime spot right on the river but sadly they haven't capitalised on this. We should have checked out the menu before coming as were expecting more a bistro lunch (as that's how they advertise themselves) when it was more cafe with predominantly sandwiches and tartines. Having said that what we had was very good but if we are going out to lunch we wouldn't really just want a sandwich and other items were rather limited. But perhaps they know the market better as Bradford on Avon is very touristy and that's probably what sells most at lunch time. The girl who served us told us the evening menu was more like a bistro menu (and she's right as we've checked on line) but although she was friendly enough the place just lacked atmosphere. I have visions of it being very brightly lit at night which would also put us off but even if it wasn't, it was just quite soulless and for some reason the open plan kitchen just doesn't work in this case. They have a super outside sitting area right on the river yet it looked as if the tables and chairs had just been plonked there without any thought whatsoever. A few plants or a more welcoming seating area might have enticed us back on a summer's day as the decor inside certainly wouldn't. That is often the problem with places which have two identities - one in the day and one at night, and this certainly isn't bistro by day, it's cafe. I always feel you should stick to one and then people know what you're about.

My father and I visited Sebatiens Bistro following the Remembrance Day service in the town centre (close to the bistro) and we ordered two coffees. After a while it became apparent that we had been forgotten after being told to take a seat and wait for our coffees to be brought to us.

All in all we waited for 40 minutes for the coffee - a whole 15 minutes after we raised attention to the fact that our order hadn't been brought over yet, 25 minutes after ordering.

Other groups came in, were seated and were served before us and when we raised this with the lady who eventually came over to serve us (an owner or manager, I'm not sure)she told us 'it's because they ordered food', as though this entitles them to preferential treatment which was disappointing.

We eventually got our coffee and the lady apologised and said that they were not expecting a rush that day and hadn't got additional staff in which smacks of poor planning on their part because it isn't as though the Remembrance service isn't well advertised and well attended every year.

We visited the Bistro today when visiting the Farmer's market which happens right outside and were really disappointed to find that it was closed on what is a very busy day in town. The Bistro is loosing custom to other nearby coffee shops that cater to their customers better.

Sebastiens need to up their game and their planning if they want to keep customers. There is too much competition in Bradford on Avon to treat customers in this manner and to approach the running of your restaurant as though it is a hobby. Other restaurants such as the Fat Fowl have their finger on the pulse, and Sebastiens falls far, far behind.

Personally, I will be going elsewhere in the future.

Very enjoyable occassion. Food quality excellent and very well presented. Staff catered well for this large party and all agreed that the venue provided a pleasant, friendly environment and very good value. A lovely way to open the Christmas celebrations.
