We finished off our weekend christmas shopping in Bath with afternoon tea at the Bridge Tea Rooms and had a great time, The place is so beautifully quaint, the service was fantastic and the food was very scrummy - ten out of ten for the scones, best we have ever tasted. Couldnt fault the place, will definitely come back

This is the second Time I have visited this tea room, first time felt service was rushed and the opinion was that we were in the way, the second time I was totally ignored, and left sitting for 20 minutes, eventually left in disgust

I have to refute the negative comments from some on this page. As a couple in our 50s we arrived at 1pm on a Friday lunchtime and were welcomed with smiles and offered a choice of a table on ground floor or first floor. We took the latter and both had the very tasty ham & mushroom rarebit with a pot of real leaf tea (with tea strainer) & extra pot of boiled water. Waitress was patient and friendly despite just 2 of them serving both floors and having to go to the kitchen on the 2nd floor to collect the food. The manageress was calmly overseeing and friendly to customers and waitresses. Although we lingered over cups of tea after the rarebit there was no attempt made to hurry us out. Toilets were clean (with a notice to turn the taps slowly in the small sink to avoid splashing and to notify staff if water splashed the floor). Tearooms tastefully decorated with minimal Halloween items on 29 October. Calm, cosy atmosphere - probably all the better for not having any young children while we were there! Would certainly return as the scones that were coming out for the cream teas looked like mini cottage loaves! Experience 10/10.

I was treated to champagne afternoon tea here a week ago. When it's a treat it's hard to complain for fear of upsetting the person paying. I would say that the management of this establishment need to address some important issues. Please snure every table is thoroughly cleaned before sitting the next customer, our table top was "gritty" possibly from spilt sugar?

Much more care should be made to ensure the waitresses look pristine wherever possible throughout the whiole day, they possibly do look neat and clean when the tearooms first open each day but by mid afternoon, when we visited, the long white aprons were badly stained - it just doesn't look professional. My tea cup had a chip out of it, the cake stand was seriously wobbly, the champagne bucket needed a good clean. The ladies toilet was in need of a desperate tidy up, there were paper towels littered in the overflowing bin. A "cook" swept past several times, her apron was filthy -afain, in my book it doesnt give a very nice impression on cleanliness "behind the scenes". On the plus points - the scones were delicious -huge and light and fluffy. Based on my experience I am afraid to say I would not re-visit or recommend this busy tea rooms to family or friends. If these issues were addressed I am sure people would be much more satisfied. Being "busy" should not excuse attention to detail.

We had lunch last week and the food although basic was extremely good. In all respects the experience would motivate us to return very soon. The food in particular was so good that the above average price was fully justified. I hope that this standard is more consistent in respect of the other reviews given. The standard we experienced might reflect to a large part the staff who we met. Many thanks
