A DBB package for my wife's birthday and very enjoyable. The hotel is a typical cotswolds country house, nicely decorated and with well trained attentive staff. Our room (16) was one of only three on the second floor in the main house. It wasn't huge but spacious enough and had a large bed and nice bathroom. It was a little cold as the radiator wasn't left on, but warmed up eventually. The set meal dinner was first class and good value. As a TA reviewer pointed out, £3.50 for a cup of tea isn't cheap, but we did get petit fours with it. Lots of parking space and the gardens would be nice to explore in the summer. A good four star hotel.

Room Tip: It's quiet on the second floor but other rooms might be larger.

Guyers House Hotel is lovely. The staff are excellent and the food is outstanding. We visited in January for our wedding anniversary. We hadn't told anyone there that it was our anniversary, but someone obviously took note as, after dinner, we received a plate of petit fours iced with Happy Anniversary. Given that we weren't expecting anything and the hotel was very busy, I thought that this was a very nice, thoughtful touch. I would like to give 4.5 stars, but I can't quite give 5 as the room we had was a bit cobwebby at curtain rail and ceiling level; and the bar area was cold and a bit lacking in atmosphere. But the food is exceptional, as is the (plentiful) staff service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, especially as it is also good value for money.

What a lovely spot this hotel is in. Despite the time of year, we enjoyed the interesting gardens around the house and it is well situated for Bath, Lacock, Bradford on Avon, etc. The room was most comfortable and spotless, the staff were lovely - relaxed and friendly - and both dinner and extensive breakfast were great. We really enjoyed this 2 night break in such a beautiful area.
Car parking free.

We celebrated an 80th birthday on a Sunday at lunch time. We were a party of 16 including 2 toddlers. We were accomodated in a private dining room, which was perfect, the food, service, facilities were excellent, we finished off with coffee in the lounge.
I would definitely RECCOMEND this venue.

Had a two night secret escapes deal. Room was fine, with shower over the bath. Full large hand wash, shampoo and shower gel was provided - no tissues though.
Food was fine although rather over cooked on the first night, but excellent on the second night. Breakfast spread was adequate, with an extensive cooked breakfast menu.
Lovely cheerful staff, young and with good manners. Non-intrusive. Very pleased to have stayed there.

Excellent hotel just outside Bath. A great mix of classic architecture with that modern twist. Good facilities in the little town just a few minutes walk away. Nice little stables bar with good snacks. Breakfast set us up for the weekends walking. Only one little issue is that the bar seemed to shut very quickly and no facilities to get a drink afterwards. Oh well an early night it was!!!

Booked a 2 night dinner/bb OPL Exclusive Classic Break which is really quite good value. Yes the rooms and beds in the annexe are rather small, but comfortable enough. The food is excellent and service in the restaurant impeccable.
The niggles are:
Why o why such cheap nasty tea bags at the diy breakfast table? And at a luxury hotel surely one would expect a choice of quality teas anyway, including Earl Grey etc.
Like other guests being served just before us (and the ones commenting in these reviews) we also had trouble during check-out at reception, when they tried to charge us £32 for the 'complimentary' half bottle of champagne. Surely this aspect of the management needs urgent attention, especially as the apology was not particularly effusive. It tends to leave one with a rather negative feeling on departure.
