“Fantastic value”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

Excellent base - as is Chesterfield itself. Good range of breakfast times & a good breakfast. Gaynor is friendly & helpful, rooms are a good size, with high ceilings & large TVs. Everything works, nice tea tray in room including herbal infusions & tea pot. It is on a main road but was quiet enough even at front. Excellent value all round - a real find.

Room Tip: rooms at back overlook garden & would be more quiet; but front was still OK

Acorns Guest house is the nicest and most welcoming place myself and partner have stayed. we were made to feel welcome from the second we arrived. Gaynor the host is fantastic and should be very proud of Acorns>
Spotless and clean and the room overlooking the beautiful garden was stunning and spacious, the hospitality tray was welcomed too, thank you. Breakfast filled us to teatime and was hot well cooked and aplenty. Its a short walk into town which is a bonus too. we enjoyed our stay so much we rebooked again. A very romantic time was had so thank you Gaynor.

What a perfect place to stay, rooms were clean to a high standard, the owner is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast will keep you going for most of the day, free parking at the back and very well looked after garden. Will certainly stay again.

Have stayed here twice as a base whilst out exploring the Peak Disatirct. Have really enjoyed both visits. Clean, spacious and peaceful. The owner is pleasant and helpful and the breakfasts have been consistently very good indeed! Value for money here is exceptional and I really wouldn't be able to fault anything!

Well, if you want stunning bed and breakfast in Chesterfield then look no further than Acorn Guest House. Beautiful rooms (they don't build places like this anymore!) that are clean, spacious and has everything you need, top it all off with a full English breakfast and you'll be contented.
Would certainly stay here again when in Chesterfield and at superb value too!

Ive just taken mum to the peak district for a few days and this place was very central). It was a beautiful old victorian family house. The owner was lovely and helpful (and cooked fantastic English breakfasts!) and the rooms were spotless and maintained daily.

It was close enough to town to be able to walk and had excellent parking space available. We were on a reasonably busy road, but didn't hear a sound from the traffic in our room.

Room Tip: Get one of the rooms overlooking the pretty back garden.

I've tried a number of B&Bs in Chesterfield - I have to stay here on business, and since it's my own money rather than being put on expenses, value and price is important.
Just once I've stayed somewhere I absolutely promise I'll never return to (I'd rather sleep in the car!), but Acorns is the opposite.
Short notice for me means I can't always give more than a day's notice, so I don't always have much of a choice where to stay.
When I do, this is one of two places I choose.
