We took a train from Nottingham to have a day out exploring Chesterfield. My two grandsons, aged 9 and 5 years were interested in the crooked spire .
The museum was good, as the man explaining about the huge wheel and how the spire became crooked explained it all so well, they were on about it for days.
There was an exhibition on at the time we went of edwardian toys which the boys enjoyed, purchasing some at the shop .
A visit to the spire, together with lunch in the town made for a good day.
We even nipped back to the museum again before we went home as the boys were determined to get a nine..the top score on the table skittles ...which Oliver did.
