“Hidden Secret”

It was a last minute decision to stay at this pub with accommodation, and a good decision it turned out to be.
Located in,of all places, a housing estate, it's handy for Chesterfield itself and, of course the fabulous Peak District, the reason for our visit,
Andy and his wife Vicky gave a very warm and friendly welcome before showing us to our room. If you want 5 star luxury, this is't it. It's a room above a pub/festaurant. The room was absolutely spotless, not a speck of dust. A great view of Chesterfields famous spire from the window. The en suite room came with everything you need, flat screen tv, toiletries, ample towels and a very comfortable armchair that I fell asleep in!
We decided to eat downstairs on our first night. I had the venison pudding, my partner had the Hunters Chicken, the food was excellent!! I've paid a heck of a lot more in upper class restaurants where the standard of food came nowhere close! And the chips are hand cut proper chips! I would go back just for the chips!
If you want to go to bed at 9pm this is not the place for you, it is a pub and they are never the quietest places.
A night spent in the bar was great. Very friendly regulars, a decent pint and a very nice looking female singer, a good nights entertainment.
I would recommend the Lockorford Inn, warm and friendly, great food and good value for money.

We received a warm welcome from the landlady "Vicky" nothing was to much trouble, Had a fantastic stay, our room was spacious and spotless clean, we had little parcels with shampoo soap etc, we asked what time breakfast was to be told whatever suited us, we will definitely be staying again soon, thanks for a memorable stay Vicky xx

Found the place at night by taking the bus a few stops, then walking less than a mile. Not too hard, especially with a smartphone! Really nice place-charming building, nice atmosphere. The room was huge! and the bedding was great. The only problem I had was the shower was ice cold! Other than that it was great. I could see the crooked spire from my window!
