“What a wonderful find!”

What else can we write that other reviewers haven't already written?...This is an outstanding
B & B. The whole house if full of personality. All of the wonderful framed artworks, along with so many other personal and thoughtful touches, helped to set this B & B apart from all others that we'd previously stayed in. It was our 5th wedding anniversary weekend and we had been wondering whether to bring some fresh flowers with us to make our room extra special but there was no need because we were really delighted to find a lovely little vase of freshly picked garden flowers in our bedroom and bathroom (along with a house, and garden, full of flowers). There was so much evidence of the extra thoughtful care that Christine had gone to which made our stay very special and particularly memorable. We loved everything about it.

I can only echo what all other reviewers have said about Christine and Castle Hill Farm House. We have just returned from a lovely one night stay and have immediately booked to go back! As someone who will only do 'en suite' - don't let the lack of this put you off. Its as good as.
A very special place run by a very special lady. Thank you. Sally and Martyn

We booked this accommodation on the strength of TripAdvisor recommendations and were not disappointed. My wife and I stayed for two nights at the end of August and enjoyed excellent hospitality, including afternoon tea and cake on our return from days out to Chatsworth and Haddon Hall (both of which are "must see" properties). Very conveniently located to walk into Bakewell but in a quiet residential road. No off street parking but that was not a problem as we could easily park in the road immediately outside the property. Only two rooms, so book well in advance!

My wife and I stayed in this B&B based upon the #1 status and we were both very sceptical !! No one is this good are they? Simple answer yes they are! Christine runs an exceptional and best ever B&B and deserving of highest praise and #1UK in Bakewell, yes but without doubt #1 in the UK.

A warm welcome greeted us with an afternoon tea and scones which like everything else was of an exceptional standard.

The room was imaculately clean every day and with chocs to greet us on the first day and cookies yummm yumm.

Breakfasts were of highest quality and quantity and certainly the best I have ever had in any hotel or B&B. The challenge is to eat it all. Christine throws in afternoon tea which is different each day and of high standards and would cost you at least £6 each if you went into the town. The shops in Bakewell are aboud 5-10 minute walk depending on how much breakfast holds you up!

The only issues are not within Pauline's control is the traffic noise during the day (not the evening). The parking is not always outside the property but is no more than a couple of mins walk away,

I challenge any B&B in the world to be as good as this is, it was absolutely exceptional as everyone says in their reviews.

Room Tip: Book early ! Travel to this place it is the best.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a quick weekend escape here. Wonderfully welcoming, comfortable and well equipped with an air of quality in a quaint environment. Christine was an absolute pleasure to meet and her hard work is reflected in this fantastic oasis. Fabulous (almost overwhelming) breakfast! Perfectly located with a short walk from the town with easy access to the attractions of the area. The attention to detail surpassed our expectation and we will return one day. Steve & Annie

We stayed at Castle Hill Farm House in July and from the moment we arrived we had the most wonderful stay. Christine is a fantastic host and cannot do enough for you, it was lovely to return from a long walk tired and weary to be greeted by Christine asking if we wanted tea and cake in the garden...heaven!. Breakfast is fantastic and such excellent quality produce too! We will definitely return next year, cannot wait! Thanks to Christine for making our stay one we remember so fondly.

What can we say that hasn't been said in all the other rave reviews! Christine did everything and more to make us feel at home. When she knew of my egg and nut allergies, she took the trouble to provide 'Free From' biscuits in our room and eggless scones and cakes for the afternoon teas.

Other touches, for example the ample supply of refreshments in our room, fresh flowers throughout, gift of sachet of lavender when we left, all made our stay feel special.

The accommodation was spotless and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, with masses of choice: yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, as well as the cooked options.

The farmhouse is full of character and less than ten minutes away from Bakewell town centre. It is also an ideal base for a trip to Chatsworth House and other local places of interest.

We would not hesitate to book another stay with Christine if we were in the area.
