We stayed in Byre cottage and it was excellent, clean and well equipped, with beautiful views of surrounding area. We really liked the layout of the cottage with the very well equipped kitchen and cosy living area. Wood burning stove was a real bonus. Nice and quiet and great location within a short drive from Bakewell and Buxton. Excellent base for many great walks within Derbyshire Dales. Would definitely recommend and we are already planning another stay.

What is not to like about this place? Great setting, cosy, well fitted and designed. We had a wonderful time. Underfloor heating meant we were toasty. Views from the bedroom upstairs were stunning.
Owners were friendly and helpful even when the power tripped off. The directions were perfect (they needed to be as you are that remote) and it was a great location for trips to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Ashbourne and Matlock Bath. If you like shops, you could even be at the Trafford Centre in not much more than an hour.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, cosy and warm inside and with all The mod cons you could need for a break away. So peaceful, you could while the hours away wothout the world interrupting. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely weeks stay at the cottage over the October Half term.
As all the other reviews say it has very good accommodation that could not be faulted. It was so so warm to come in from the cold after a days walking.
Lovely remote location, with many places to visit nearby. Good location for exploring the Tissington Trail and High Peak trail for cycling. Also near to Alton Towers.

We went for a long weekend and took our dog Maggie (she is 21 months old and this was her first holiday). Loved the location and accommodation was clean. It was also warm and quite a welcome after a long walk. Everything we needed. Great views and local walks. Only regret is we all wished it could have been longer.
