Description: Centrally located in Hebden Court, a charming courtyard setting in the popular Peak District market town of Bakewell, a visit to our recently refurbished tea room is an absolute must. Whether you are a local resident or visitor to the area you are guaranteed a warm welcome. We are proud to be working with local suppliers to provide you with freshly made cakes, pastries and tarts, homemade sandwiches on freshly baked bread, proper coffee and perfectly blended loose leaf teas all served in and on vintage, mismatched crockery. Our shabby chic tea room is set on two floors seating 32 guests in a comfortable and safe environment. Additional tables are situated outside in the courtyard where we can seat a further 18 customers who prefer to enjoy our food and drink alfresco. In the summer months we offer the shade of parasols and in the cooler months the warmth of a fluffy throw. Dogs are welcome in the courtyard where they can enjoy a little refreshment too from freshly filled water bowls.

We brought my boyfriends Grandma here for a birthday treat and had the afternoon tea. We could not believe our eyes when the biggest cake stand I have ever seen arrived at our table! It was jam packed with sandwiches, salad, cakes, scones and Bakewell tarts. The food was absolutely beautiful and the portion sizes were so generous! At least three other tables commented on how lovely our afternoon tea looked and how they would be ordering one next time. The tea rooms has such a lovely and relaxing atmosphere with such friendly staff. We will DEFINITELY be returning.

The lavendar tea rooms never fails to provide a lovely atmosphere , fantastic food and wonderful service . Lesley and her team go out of their way to make you feel welcome . The afternoon tea is absolutely amazing , it’s fast becoming our favourite place for birthdays, baby showers and hen parties . The sandwiches are fresh and sooooo tasty not to mention the scones and cake ! We even got to take home what we couldn’t squeeze in. Excellent value for money . Thank you so much and see you soon .

This used to be such a nice tea shop. Havn't been in for some time so was really shocked at the change. Everywhere is so grubby. No idea when the downstairs floor was last cleaned, needs re-decorating and a good clean from top to bottom. The curtains in the Ladies seem to be hanging in dirt and a good clean and disinfecting is needed. There were bits of stale cakes on the counter that all looked really unappetising and the charge for a slice was ridicules.
This is a matter of things changing and not for the better. Sort things out Lavender or stand to lose a lot of customers. People do notice grubby and unkempt and just don't come back.
