A good, but small cafe tucked away on the charming town of Bakewell.

Cakes are fab and people are always v cheerful ... well worth popping in and see if you guess what's in the cakes!

More a Bistro type of feel than a restaurant BUT if you just need a delicious mug of homemade soup with a sandwich made from good bread; excellent roast beef and salad garnish do call into this little gem.

The owner was there when I called. He turned his hand to service (complete with a lovely smile) suggesting the different choices available that day. I believe specials were written on a blackboard! Seating us comfortably and with very little waiting time we had our lunch.

This is a very pet friendly place too and bearing in mind that Bakewell is a rural agricultural town with customers bringing their pets to go on the various walks around the Peak District it made a pleasant change to see them welcomed too.

I have personally recommended this little gem whilst walking around Bakewell and will continue to do so.

A lovely visit - thank you.

On a drizzly Derbyshire Saturday lunch time me & my mrs popped in to the Honeybun in search of a nice cup of tea & a small bite to eat.

The inviting smell of the homemade soups immediately draw you inside.

The specials board outside advertised Beef Stew & I was thrilled.

A real beef stew is a thrilling thing.

In these modern times where panini's, crepes & wraps have taken over most cafes it was refreshing to see that the Honeybun had room for classics like stew & soup.

The friendly staff immediately took our order & service was nice & quick.

The cafe itself is cosy & it was very busy with people enjoying their soups & sandwiches.

When the food arrived I was very happy with generous portion & extra bread, after adding a bit of pepper I was in heaven.

My partner opted for the turkey & brie toastie & was very happy too with quality & flavour.

The Honeybun is not fussy or pretentious, the prices are fair, there is variety on the menu & it attracts a diverse clientele.

For any overseas visitors who want an authentic English cafe experience get yourselves to the honeybun for a post 'yomp' pot of tea & lunch.

For a cafe to advertise itself as dog friendly and then not really want the dog to come in doesn't come across as welcoming. No atmosphere and couldn't wait to leave.

Very busy cafe.basic toasted sandwichs with very minimal presented salad - half a poor tomato doesn't make the grade
Beef salad looked good
why is the owner the only one with a smile
get the staff to clean and clear the tables quickly you missed 6 couples today that could have been an extra £ 120 in the till
look at your staff are they as good as you are they eager to get bums on seats
