“Good fish and chips lunch in Bakewell”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2014

Hadn't read any reviews before our visit.
Decided on fish and chips instead of a pub lunch.
Nice bright modern restaurant.
Attentive service.
We had to £8.95 haddock special. Haddock, chips and mushy peas with a slice of bread and butter. Tea extra.
The food was piping hot, obviously freshly fried.Good portions.Good quality.

“Instead of Bakewell Pudding try fish and chips”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013

Most people who visit this fish and chip shop come back time and time again the service is excellent and the food is superb. On sundays despite the numerous eaterys situated within feet of this takeaway/restaurant there are always queue's for the best fish and chips you will every eat

“Excellent Food and Good Value Too!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013

Ate in the upstairs restaurant as a party of 2 adults and 1 child. It was our first visit to the restaurant, and I have to say what a really great meal we had. The fish was really fresh and meaty with a really good batter. My husband commented that these were 'one of the best fish and chips' he's had. I opted for chicken and mushroom pie with chips and gravy, the pie was really good, with a pot of really nice gravy. The childs portion of sausage and chips was the perfect size, with a nice ice cream included in the price. It was very clean, and the 2 staff serving were very efficient and friendly. Overall, a good experience and we will be definately returning again soon.

“What happened to your curry sauce.?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

We are local people and have used this chippy for years. The fish has always been good as well the chips. Our favourite is the curry sauce.Savoury and sweet.!!
We had chips and curry sauce today and they went straight in the bin on the park.!!!!Revolting.!!
Obviously changed supplier or something.Strange small cubes of something( maybe potato ) in a VERY HOT sauce. So hot , we couldn't eat it.Tasted very chemically.
PLEASE go back to the traditional stuff as its so much nicer and doesn't take the enamel off your teeth or the lining off your stomach.!!!!
