We stumbled across this place as our guide book had recommended the lathkill hotel but we didn't rate it at all.. This tea room is set on a private patio overlooking owners Karen and Marks beautiful garden, with a backdrop of beautiful scenery and the dales. There was a fantastic selection of home made cakes - we tried pretty much all of them between us and amazing coffee. We would definitely return. The hospitality was top notch and it felt kind of special, like a secret garden :)

We arrived at the tea house mid way through our walk in the dales around Youlgreave. Mark the owner opened up early for us and made us very welcome. The view from Over Haddon is brilliant. Mark also bakes daily - his Eccles Cake was sooo... good!

We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to us and thank you for putting up such a nice review. It was nice to see you the following day as well and hope you enjoyed the Eccles cakes you took away with you. Mark bakes almost everything else but the Eccles cakes but thank you for the kind comments about them, I enjoy making them. We hope to see you again when you are next in the UK. Thanks again and kindest regards. Karen and Mark.

After realising that we had the cakes at home midway through our walk around lathkill dale, we were thankful to see a sign pointing up the hill for the garden tea room. The owners were very nice and the Eccles cakes I would recommend to anyone. Views from the terrace are stunning and provided a welcome break to the views from the valley floor. All in all a must go place if you are in or around over hadden!

After having a lovely long walk along the lathkill dale, I stopped for a well earned drink at this delightful little tea shop. Delicious cakes (very large slices) were displayed on a table just inside the owners kitchen and I was invited to take my pick. Needless to say it was the coffee cake for me (my favourite) and a latte. The views are stunning, the place relaxed and very, very welcoming and the coffee/cake perfect!. Strongly recommended oh and they have two adorable little dogs called teddy and Maisie, who really are the stars of the show.

Ps. Good spot if you are walking alone and feel like a chat as the owners are very friendly.
