We visited The Garden Tea Room after a lovely walk through Lathkill Dale. I'd seen the excellent reviews on trip adviser and thought it was worth a visit and we were not disappointed. The terrace has lovely views over the surrounding countryside and was a very pleasant place to rest a little after our walk. The drinks and cake are reasonably priced and a good range of home-made cakes are on offer. We decided to go for the Bakewell tart and it was yummy! Our two dogs also enjoyed the fresh water and doggy biscuits. I would recommend a visit if you're in the area.

We have just been camping for a few days and spent a lot of time walking around lathkill dale which is one of our favourite places.Talking to other walkers we got round to the usual conversation of tea rooms and we were recommended The GardenTea Room and how grateful we were. The setting is stunning and the cakes are fantastic and they do not skimp on the portions. The owners Karen and Mark are very friendly and will mingle with the customers if they have the time which is sometimes impossible due to the popularity.Cannot wait to revisit.

My husband and I visited here this weekend with friends who live in the Peak District and who recommended The Garden Tea Room, what a find! The gardens and outdoor seating area are charming with lovely views, and near Lathkill Dale which is a beautiful and tranquil place anyway. The hosts bake all the gorgeous cakes themselves, and my husband and I had the coconut cake, wow, it was gorgeous, with yummy coconut cream filling and raspberry jam, my husband wanted another slice wrapped up to take home but we had to consider our figures as the cakes were huge!! The garden is so pretty with lovely planting in tubs, and the hosts are so welcoming.
I will have to try the chocolate brownies next time, or perhaps the carrot cake or maybe the coffee cake............

I have only just started to do the Coconut cake and it is rapidly becoming the most popular cake on the menu. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to us and thank you very much for giving us such a lovely review. You will be more then welcome to try all the other cakes when you visit us again, just don't eat anything for a week beforehand. Thank you once again and we look forward to seeing you soon. Kindest regards Karen and Mark.

Handy location close to Lathkill Dale. Only open when the weather is suitable as it's outside.
Wonderful peaceful environment in beautiful garden, oh and cakes aren't bad either. In fact they're great along with the tea and the hosts. Very Dog friendly as well.
You cant ask for more, apart from good weather of course.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to give us such a lovely review, we are pleased you enjoyed your visit to us, the Lathkill Dale is beautiful and we are lucky to have such wonderful views from the garden. We are very dog friendly and have plenty of biscuits and chewie's for them and our two Scotties enjoy meeting new friends. Your are quite right about the weather, we have been lucky with the summer so far but we have invested in two huge umbrellas so if there is a shower it will be dry underneath them. We hope you have the opportunity to visit us again and thank you once again for the review. Kindest regards Karen and Mark.
