We have been coming to Derbyshire for many years and love going to Monsal head for the views and to the stables bar for a meal and a drink. We love the rustic charm of the Stables bar and hope that doesn't change.Walkers with or without dogs but usually with their wet coats and boots are as welcome as every one else and that is what we love .
We have been staying on a caravan site locally this week and after going for a 10k walk around Monsal dale today and getting quite wet, we were looking forward to a late lunch/early tea in the Stables.we were warmly welcomed by the young lady in the bar. She was attentive to everyone who came in, the food arrived promptly and was enjoyable.
The quirky decor, the wonky floors, the welcoming wood burner, all go to make this place special.
We love the ambience here so ,please, don't change.! I know we are not alone in this.
I can't review the actual Hotel as we have never stayed here but, to the manager, you have a special place here,so look after it!
