A wonderful little cottage close to the town of Bakewell, it had everything you needed. Lucy is a wonderful host, who had left us a fab welcome basket and more importantly a parking permit for the car as parking was quite restricted in the area! The cottage has a home from home feel, lovely and warm, a fireplace if you need it though and the beds were so comfy, I could go on and on. It was lovely and clean too. The street was very quiet, only the church bells to keep you company, the views from the rooms were great too.

Lovely Family Stay
We absolutely loved this cottage in Bakewell. Great location for exploring the Peak District and situated in lovely Bakewell. We stayed as a family of four and would definitely re visit. The cottage is clean and check in was very easy. You do have a parking permit for parking and we always got parked ok near the cottage. Lucy and Mike were very helpful with any questions we had. Thank you for a lovely stay

Quaint cottage with everything you need.
Good communication from the host with all the information we needed. Nice welcome pack on arrival. Parking is on-street with a residents' permit and we had no difficulty in finding a space nearby. The kitchen is well appointed and it was easy to prepare a meal. Bedrooms are spacious. The bathroom is narrow but has everything you want with a good shower over the bath. Everything was exceptionally clean. Wi-Fi was fast and the smart TV worked well. Close to town, with the Co-op and other shops, pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. It is a bit uphill on the way home, but if you're walking around Bakewell, you should be expecting hills.

Ideal holiday cottage
We enjoyed a lovely week in Bakewell at the beginning of October. The Cottage was an excellent base to explore the area. The cottage is well appointed and finished to a high standard, very cosy with an efficient hot water and heating system. There are incredible views over Bakewell and the surrounding countryside from the bathroom and twin bedroom. The bed was comfortable and it was lovely to hear the chimes of the church clock.
We parked the car on arrival on Saturday and didn’t use it again until Wednesday. A 5 minute walk takes you into the centre of Bakewell where there are a variety of shops to explore and buy provisions, treats and presents from. We also used a leaflet (now out of print) from the cottage and did all of the 5 circular walks on it which took us in all directions and allowed us to explore the local area. The Monsal Trail was also another local attraction worth biking along.
We enjoyed a delicious lazy Sunday lunch (Roast Beef) at The Manners (booking recommended) and equally yummy lunches at The Hassop Station Cafe (The Harvester Platter and The Hassop Station Beef Brisket Melt) on the Monsal Trail, The Bulls Head (The Beef Burger) in Ashford in the Water, Chatsworth Farm Shop Cafe (Toast Roast Beef & Mozzarella Ciabatta and Lamb Meat Balls with Pasta) in Pilsley.
Oh yes and Bakewell Pudding won out over Bakewell Tart!
Thank you very much to Mike and Liz for sharing this wonderful holiday cottage with us.

Very pleasant cottage in a lovely town
We very much enjoyed staying in this cottage with an Australian friend. The centre of town with a variety of restaurants, bars and supermarkets was close but you could always walk out onto the hills. It is very close to Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. It would help if the bedroom curtains were better lined as we were woken very early.

Perfect location for exploring Bakewell and the Peak District
We spend Easter weekend here, exploring Bakewell by foot being right in the centre of town, although up a short steep hill. Parking was fine, although a little difficult to find a space nearby when we arrived. We parked up outside the cottage, on the road, the unload, so wasn't a big problem really.
Facilities were great, everything you would want and expect really. Finished to a high standard, and cosy in the evenings. It's not totally child proof though, so you might want to bring a portable stair gate and bed rail if you have a toddler sleeping in another room (we fashioned a make shift blockade using towel racks, blankets, and spare pillows).
Incredible views from the bathroom and twin bedroom, even more perfect after waking up to an inch of snow on the rooftops, trees, and hills. I don't think you can find anything as nice for the price in the middle of Bakewell, everything is on the doorstep! If you have chance to book it, grab it while you can...

Everything was perfect
Our first ever visit to the beautiful village of Bakewell and staying at the Cottage went a long way to make it a whole lot more enjoyable. Immaculately clean when we arrived and everything we needed was at hand. Including a tray of tea, coffee and biscuits.
Just a short walk to the centre of the village but once back in the cottage it was pure peace and quiet. Rooms are well appointed and the chimes from teh nearby church really give it an old English village feel. Bakewell is a wonderful compact village and you would neither starve or go thirsty. Working your way through winding streets there is something for everyone.
We will definently be back and

Fab!
This is an immaculately presented, well-prepared holiday home. The correspondence prior to arrival was informative and helpful. The welcome tea, coffee, milk and biscuits was a thoughtful touch. The location was perfect for the town, and the many visitor attractions of Derbyshire. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage for its amenities, cleanliness and perfect location.

Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are nearby and the surrounding villages such as Ashford in the Water and Eyam are very pretty. The Monsal Trail and High Peak Trail are popular with both walkers and cyclists and there are many other beautiful walks in the area to choose from. The Derbyshire Dales such as Monsal Dale, Dovedale and Lathkill Dale are outstanding places to visit.
