We've had a brilliant weekend staying at the Robertswood. Dave & Marilyn went out of their way to make us feel at home and nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them. The rooms were spotless and we had a wonderful and filling breakfast each day. Looking forward to returning again. Thank you

I first came to Robertswood 5 years ago and I was greeted by two wonderful hosts. Dave and Marilyn are amazing in the way that they make you feel welcome. Robertswood is very homely and warm.

The trip was for my Dad's 50th birthday, i've not actually been back since but my Mum and Dad try to go at least once a year.

The rooms are lovely and the views are an added bonus, you can see from miles looking out the window. Each is tailored accordingly and there are many facilities within your room to make you feel at home.

The large lounge downstairs with the bar tucked in the corner is homely, you can relax there of an evening after dinner or just in the afternoon with a book when you return from your daily travels.

The homemade food on the menu at this B&B is very tasty, I can't fault any of the food here at all and everything is done to high standards. The breakfasts are massive and they keep you going all day, I don't think I ate lunch once when I stayed here. I've never eaten anywhere apart from here and neither have my Mum and Dad

I look forward to a return trip to Robertswood soon, it's definately near the top of the 'to do' list.

Room Tip: Any of them, they are all perfect

We really enjoyed our 2 nights here. David and Marylyn were lovely and very accommodating. We felt very well looked after. We had beautiful views from our bedroom which was really comfortable, and had a lovely bathroom. The breakfasts were great! There is loads to do around Matlock and this is a relaxing and beautiful location.

We stayed at Robertswood for a family get together for my uncles 60th birthday. We had an absolutely wonderful time, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was just lovely. We were all made to feel so at home we didn't want to leave! And Marylyn's homemade jam is out of this world! I can't recommend the jam or the hotel enough and will definitely be going back for more of both!!!

Room Tip: Top floors have excellent views and room 8 has a fire exit which doubles as a great balcony!

Marylyn and David made us so welcome that it made our stay all the more pleasurable. The accomodation was extremely comfortable and the views across the valley breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. There so much to see and do locally that we couldn't fit everything in one weekend so will be returning hopefully in the near future and staying at Robertswood, why look elsewhere when you have found the perfect retreat.

Room Tip: All the rooms at the front and side elevation have stunning views across the valley, and are quite a...

This was our first visit, David and Marylyn made us very welcome, their house very comfortable throughout. David is full of local knowledge including the history of the house.

We had intended to eat out on nights two and three and had selected a couple of eateries to try. However liking the odd tipple and not fancying the steep uphill walk from town we decided that with the menu on offer we did not need to eat out. Breakfast is substantial and set us up for our day exploring.

We were in Matlock to visit the County Record Office (a 10 minute walk away), which after booking our accommodation we discovered was closed for 3 weeks. Having many villages to visit as part of our family history research we decided to go ahead anyway. We shall be back before too long to go to the record office.
