“Lovely cream tea”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

Can't really understand the negative comments in the past. We had a lovely cream tea, with nice large teapots and leaf tea, good scones and plentiful jam and cream. We used all the jam and they happily replenished.
Just what the doctor ordered!

“Not clean and in need of make over.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

Had lunch here some weeks ago and was shocked by the state of the toilet facilities. A cramped cubical no soap no hot water , and a dirty wet towel on the floor. The carpet was just disgusting and very old, tiles can be mopped every day and are so much more hygienic, so lots of nasty staining on carpet. The wall paper was falling of the wall, i felt unclean just being in there. It does not fill you with confidence where the food handling its concerned. This place is in desperate need of a deep clean and decorating. The food and service are good so it is a shame to lose customers because of theses things that would not take much to put right.

“Good but dated”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

Been coming here for 15 years now and in that time it has not been decorated and it all feels very drab. Good place to go if you're looking for a spot of lunch and the food is good too. However I don't like my glass being presented to me by the girl holding it around the top where I was going to be drinking from, very unhygienic. After we had finished our lunch, we sat with our empty plates for what seemed a long time before anyone came and took them away. The toilet has no hygienic soap dispenser and they are still using a towel in the toilet for people to dry their hands which is very off putting.
