having tried cinnamon toast in another tea room my partner and I were delighted to see it on the menu at the regent house and eagerly awaited its arrival. What a let down! it was just dry bread with a piece of raw apple on the top not what we expected at all!. When we complained to the waitress she was very rude and snatched our plates away saying she would give us our money back if that's how we felt! Poor food and unpleasant staff, will not be returning.

while we welcome constructive reviews we are at a loss to understand this review. 10 months have passed since these people came in to our tea room. they were obviously very upset and yet took ten months to criticise. of course it did not enable us to correct any mistakes we may have made. our cinnamon toast comprises a choice of three different toasts, freshly baked every morning, spread with butter and cinnamon, topped with slices of fresh apple. of course if a customer is not happy we would not charge them as they left. customers do not pay until they are satisfied on their departure.

Can't really understand the negative comments in the past. We had a lovely cream tea, with nice large teapots and leaf tea, good scones and plentiful jam and cream. We used all the jam and they happily replenished.
Just what the doctor ordered!

Had lunch here some weeks ago and was shocked by the state of the toilet facilities. A cramped cubical no soap no hot water , and a dirty wet towel on the floor. The carpet was just disgusting and very old, tiles can be mopped every day and are so much more hygienic, so lots of nasty staining on carpet. The wall paper was falling of the wall, i felt unclean just being in there. It does not fill you with confidence where the food handling its concerned. This place is in desperate need of a deep clean and decorating. The food and service are good so it is a shame to lose customers because of theses things that would not take much to put right.
