We stayed at Glendon Guest House at the beginning of April. From the moment that we walked in the door we felt pampered and appreciated. The house and rooms are beautiful. The bed was sooooo comfortable that we thought about trying to stuff it into my car boot and bring it home. On arrival we were greeted with a lovely pot of tea along with a bit of delicious cake. The owner then gave us several wonderful restaurant suggestions as well as some information about the area. Breakfast was delicious with great service. I will go out of my way to stay here whenever we are anywhere near Matlock.

We stayed at the Glendon Guest House a weekend in June. As the guest house normally takes minimum two nights, we were lucky to be able to get a booking for a single night, even sweeter we were offered the four poster bedroom! On arrival, we were immediately welcomed with a smile into our room even when we were early before the check in time. The room was gorgeous with a good size ensuite and very clean. The pillows were very soft and sheets were smooth to ensure a good night sleep. Breakfast was great, with variety of cooked breakfast with fresh fruit; and the chef obliged to our little additional requests. Definitely stay again.

We recently spent four days at the Glendon - one of the best B&B experiences we have had. Genuine warm welcome from the owners; spotlessly clean, beautiful decor; very comfortable and well equipped rooms; wonderful breakfasts; ample onsite parking - all in all, couldn't fault anything. No hesitation in giving the Glendon a 5* recommendation.

We stayed at the Glendon B&B over the Bank Holiday in May 2014, the B&B offered free off-street parking which was big enough for 5 cars. The house is well decorated in the traditional sense, we had a four poster bed and it was spotlessly clean. The bedroom was very comfortable and had a well sized bathroom with a large shower. There was a good choice for breakfast, cereals, fruit or cooked breakfast, I would recommend the pancakes with blueberries! The B&B provided details about restaurants in the area for dinner which was very handy. The restaurants in Matlock ARE VERY BUSY on the weekends and bank holidays and even though I had this info since January when I booked our room, I failed to remember and didn't book anywhere for dinner, luckily, we were able to eat at an indian restaurant, called Maazi which is in a converted cinema within 10mins walking of the B&B, which was fab, good food, good service and lovely surroundings. On our other nights in the Peak District, we had to eat elsewhere as all of the restaurants in Matlock were BOOKED! Matlock is well situated for the Peak District which is a lovely national park in England with lots of walking opportunities but if it rains head to Chatsworth House which is fantastic (they also allow you to take photos which is usually a no no!).

Thank you. We are pleased you had an enjoyable stay and found Glendon to be welcoming and of a high standard. We are lucky to be in such a lovely part of the country and glad you managed to see different areas. As you say, the area can be very busy but there are a good range of local amenities.

I stayed at Glendon House for two nights with friends, occupying four rooms in total. My wife and I stayed in the four poster bedroom on the first floor. Very clean, spacious and nicely decorated overlooking the Hall Leys Park. Really a treat. Reception at arrival was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast: among the best I had in Britain! Worth a return visit when visiting the Peak District National Park.

So lovely to go back and stay at Glendon House again. Really is a superb bed and breakfast. Beautifully decorated, lovely furnishings, sumptuous rooms with divine bed and bedding and immaculately clean as always. Lots of lovely touches and such discreet but excellent service. Breakfast was amazing as ever and served in a gorgeous dining room with lots of choice. It was also no trouble for them to cater for coeliacs. I certainly didn't miss out. We love Glendon House so much we are returning next year with our two children to stay in their fantastic family room. This is also a great location to stay right next to the beautiful park and walking distance into matlock but also quiet in the evening and on the doorstep of lots to do.

Absolutely perfect in every way! From the welcoming smile, cuppa & advice regarding as to where eat on an evening. My son & I enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The beds were comfy, the rooms spotless, the showers lovely & hot. And breakfast was out of this world with a wonderful variety & plenty on the plate. Great way to start the day & was enough to fill my 17 yr old!
