“Great fun”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

Me and my wife had a great day out on the river with John our guide and another couple. John was good fun and made it an entertaining trip. Jumping in the river and floating downstream was chilly but also a great laugh, as was getting the boat up on its side whilst clinging on for dear life, how john didn't get wet is beyond me:) I have a feeling there is a video on its way to me that is worthy of you've been framed.
If your in the peak district and looking for something fun to do this should be your first stop.
Remember 20p for the showers as they will be much needed.
Looking forward to doing another trip with them soon...the River Dee is calling:)

“Was that a banjo I heard”
Reviewed 5 October 2013 via mobile

A great trip on the river. John the guide was very knowledgeable about the river and canoeing. He made the whole two and a half hours on the river very entertaining.
The day we went, there was a slight mist on the slow moving river and combined with the overhanging under undergrowth it was just like some scenes from Deliverance and Apocalypse Now (just don't get out the boat).
As you got further down river the rapids gives you the excitement value.
The whole trip was great and I would recommend this to anyone of any age or ability.
He has setup a good relationship with the pub for use of their showering and changing facilities. You will need 20p for the shower, but it will be the best 20p you will spend.
Thanks John for a great trip down the river.

“Massive fun and giggles”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

We, as a family of 8, went kayaking with John on July 27th. We were on the river for best part of the day. John was very entertaining, and we all agreed it was the best way to spend the day.
On one part of the river, we were able to jump in and swim. I found the water too cold, and like a wimp, I stayed in my kayak. However 5 of our group jumped in and had a splash around, which caused more giggles.
The highlight for us all, was stopping off at 'Miami Beach' and running down the hill, belly-flopping down and upturned kayak and diving head first into the water.Yes-it is as funny as it sounds.
For us all, we could not have asked for a more perfect day. It was the first time we had done anything like this as a family, and we will treasure the memories made.A huge thanks to John, for putting even the youngest members (13 and 10 ) of our group at ease, and for the photos and videos of the day, which we have enjoyed. We will ABSOLUTELY be doing it again. See you next year!! :)

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

Eleven of us did the rafting as a family ranging in age from 13-50. We had an excellent afternoon. We got very wet got a few bumps and bruises and challenged ourselves with an activity the kids hadn't tried before. They LOVED it and gave it their all. The tents were definitely a lot quieter that night! John and Chris were excellent instructors and made our day safe and fun. We are planning on joining them to do the grade 4 river Dee rapids next year. Our advise would be definitely give it a go!
