Just popped in for a bite on the way to a house viewing. Not been before so didn't know what to expect. The village is fabulous/ charming. Lack of parking could be an issue but not today.
I sat outside in the sun - the garden is nice with new benches and tables and lots of greenery. Birds singing and sun shining, what more could you ask for?
I had the Steak & Ale pie and was pleasantly surprised to find a hearty slice of home made (?) pie (as opposed to a small bought in version). It was served with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and choice of new potatoes or chips - I chose chips - good call!! It was really good. For pudding I had the 'Miners Special' which was a large bowl of meringue, fruit, Ice Cream and whipped cream - fabulous!!
There was a good choice of beers and I chose a nice 'hoppy' one. I must go back when I'm not driving - try a few more of the excellent real ales. Landlord was very amenable - nice pub. Worth a visit.
