The food at this place is ok for pub food and the food was not very fresh and tasted like it was frozen and warmed up. The vegetables tasted as though they were frozen and the prices are not hat cheap for poor food quality. probably never return!!

Was upset with having to pay for food when ordering, only ever done that in KFC or McDonolds!!! They then wanted to keep our card behind the bar, you should never let your card leave your sight!!! Apart from that the food and beer was excellent. Shame they don't trust anyone !! Bad way to run a business! I wont be bringing any other visitors here!!!

We chose to return to the Crooked Inn to celebrate my Birthday last Saturday as past visits had been a good experience - however what a disappointing evening.
When we arrived we ordered a drink each and the charge gave an indication of how the rest of the evening would go - totally overpriced.
We were given a nice seat near the welcoming fire but when presented with the Menu choice we were stumped - it seems that what was on offer was neither pub grub or haute cuisine - but all incredibly expensive. In the end we just ordered a main meal which was ok but certainly did not warrant the price charged and once served were ignored.
There was no atmosphere and as this was to be a special evening we could not wait to go home.
Our advice to the Crooked Inn is please return to your 'pub grub' which used to be excellent and good value.
We certainly would not return or recommend the Crooked Inn as it stands at the moment - a great shame.
It's a good job we have a good choice of other Inns to eat in.
