On first arriving not really sure it was the place to take our two grandaughters (no wrong were we)
The staff were really great, it was a shame it was the chefs' night off as it meant we couldn't try the evening menu, but bless him he told where to to eat (the girls wanted chinese). We were given room 1 (family room) WOW, 2 massive ajoining rooms with TV/DVD in both, usual beverage facilities as well as fridge and toaster. Bathroom a little on the tired side.
Have to be honest rather on the noisey side outside but is a town centre pub.
Breakfast was beautiful- can i say more and the chef took time with the girls and cooking what they wanted

Room Tip: Can't fault the family room (1)

Used a wowcher for a two night stay with breakfast and an evening meal for two, the deal was very good value for money. The room was really big (had a double bed and a single bed in it) with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and a big bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a lovely stay using the hotel as a base to explore Cornwall (we visited the Eden Project, Newquay aquarium and Newquay zoo which were all a very picturesque drive away!!). Our only negatives are that food is only served between 5-8 in the evening which meant we didn't get back to the hotel in time for our meal. The food we got for breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked. In all we had a fantastic holiday and found the hotel to be perfect for what we wanted.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel where ours was can be noisy because of the pub downstairs, particula...

We bought WOWcher for £89 for 2 nights. We knew that we would be staying in a pub with accommodation and we didnt expect the place to be perfect, but, guys....
Times are tough for this kind of businesses and we all struggle, however:
*rooms were quite clean and the appliances looked okay. It would be fine if the tv wasn't just a decoration, same as the shower. We did report that shower wasn't working on the day of arrival, however nothing was done to fix it.
*food was very fatty (fish and chips) and mash tasted like a pre made.
*coffee and tea in the room was a nice touch. However, when we ran out of milk in our room we had to go and get it ourselves from the kitchen.
* staff was v nice, however they should be more informative about the area.

Stayed here from friday to monday in a family room (Room 1) with our two children. It said family room but it was actually two big rooms. The rooms were very clean, beddings and bathroom very clean as well. We even had a fridge. The food in the pab was very nice and at a very fair price. English Breakfast each morning, delicious thanks to Mark, the exclellent chef. The staff are great, excellent customer service and very friendly. Would definately reccommend to anyone. Next time we go to cornwall again we will definately stay here and in the same room.

Room Tip: Room 1, family room, very large and sunny

we had a wowcher 2 night stay with breakfast and Evening meal ,the food was excellent and plenty of it. Room was spotlessly clean maybe a little noisy but that could'nt be helped owing to the location central to busy street, did'nt put us off too much as would definatly go back.

Room Tip: maybe a room at the rear would be quieter

Excellent Room/bedding/linen/clean/bathrrom/ tea and other supplies all excellent (shower excellent but needs better securing
arrangements this was ROOM 6) My advice never have a room overlooking the
High Street NOISEY not only from traffic but hear the thump thump of the music in the
bar besides movement from above.and smokers outside the street entrance talking..
The Cheff excellent and all food we had was enjoyed and at a very fair price. Breakfast
had two, all excellent and hot.The Downside was noise (have a room at the rear and should
be fine) The other downside was WC paper we went out on purchased our own Mr J Allen MBE.

Room Tip: Never have a room that faces onto the High Street if you want QUITE

Mr Allen, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. I have spoken to our maintenance team regarding to the shower heads and these are now being replaced, so thank you for pointing this out to us. I am very sorry for the noise from downstairs in the pub that you could hear, this is a slight issue as like you say, being at the front of the premises there is the problem of traffic etc. However, if you would like to stay with us again please do not hesitate to ask for a room towards the rear of the building and this can be arranged for you.
Once again, thank you for your review and feedback and we hope to see you again soon.
