Bridget welcomed us and showed us to a lovely warm room (the Village Room) at the side of the house. We stayed one night in this old farmhouse. The room was clean and comfortable and the view from our window offered lovely sunsets though not on the night we stayed. The en suite is a later addition to the room and is accessed by a louvre door which is not ideal but adequate. There is a spacious shower cabinet and everything is spotless.
In the evening we made our way about 1/4 mile along the brand new pavement to the Rod and Line where we feasted on crab sandwich, chips and live music. The beer was good too! A ten minute walk took us back to our home for the night and our comfortable bed. Breakfast of home made yoghurt, fruit and a tasty, freshly prepared full English was a great start to the new day.
If you are coming from the Plymouth direction bear in mind that you need to indicate early and slow in good time as the traffic behind may well have to stop until you find a gap in the oncoming traffic. There is a large sign marking the entrance. We will certainly stay here again next time we are down this way.More
