The site name and website give the aura of idyllic country cottages. This is a bit overstated. Whilst the map shows the site location, you do need a magnifying glass to read it and truly realise where it is, and we slipped up really.
The cottage was fine, not luxurious, a bit tired, but quite acceptable. Shower was weak, decor was plain. Perfectly clean, just a tiny bit of maintenance required here and there.
Outdoors was well maintained and manicured. A nice recreation area in the right weather, if you can ignore the incessant roar of traffic zooming past on the A38 trunk road into Cornwall immediately adjactent and elevated next to the site.
You can hear the road traffic with windows closed. You just have to think of it as the crashing waves of the sea. If you come from the city you may not notice it. If you want quick access to a main road, you have it here, and you do have to be quick in pulling onto the road from the site!
Customer service was fine, until departure, when on handing back the cards for use of China Fleet and receiving back our £10 deposit, the lady dithered for several minutes for no explained reason, before letting me go. This irritated me to the point that I was then not asked if I had enjoyed my stay, and not wished a safe journey.
China Fleet is 20 minutes away, but a nice add on touch is the leisure membership, given the location needs something to make it attractive.
