“Completely happy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2012

Spa package-great deal
Upon arrival welcoming
Accommodation great - comfy, clean
In need of some upgrading bug that can only happen if they are supported by visitors regularly
Facilities at the spa just fantastic
We swam, had a jacuzzi and a massage
Haven't slept so well in ages
Completely happy and relaxed
Highly recommend the restaurant-the farmhouse - Made to feel utterly pampered and special
Definitely visiting again and often

We stayed in a 1 bed apartment whilst attending a wedding at the Country Club. We were surprised at the size of the apartment and the facilities. Large lounge area with a flat screen TV with a DVD player. Tea and coffee provided with a jug of milk in the fridge. Breakfast in the Farmhouse restaurant was a little expensive at £11 but we ate in the Brasserie upstairs which was cheaper.

Nice looking swimming pool which was a decent size and also had a slide. We didn't use this but looked good.

Great location for a family base to go explore and have day trips from.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 1 bed Tamar Room and it slept 2 in the bedroom and there was a sofa bed too. A ful...

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment, together with our daughter and her significant other for three days at the end of April to attend a family wedding. The place was easy to find, the parking extensive and the staff most welcoming and helpful.

The apartment was comfortable and clean, although a lick of paint on the windows and some new catches would be an improvement. Apart from that everything was fine - the rooms were cleaned daily together with a towel change, plus any bits of washing up was done. The cooker, kettle and microwave etc all worked as did the TV and DVD player.

We used the pool, larger than expected, and the hot tub, steam-room and sauna and were more than pleased with the facility. I'm not a golfer, but the course looked well kept and well used, we had a very pleasant walk around it - a walk that goes along the river bank with information on the wildlife, great if you have got children. We had the full breakfast on the final morning, and for £11.00 it was good value and more than enough.

Overall, I thought it all very good value for money and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: If you are in a family group, try to book a apartment that has more than the single bathroom. I had...

We have stayed here many times over the years, the last time being over the Easter weekend. The apartments have been refurbished, not before time! We had to put the duvet cover on for the sofa bed,the duvet had a huge stain on it as though it had been weed on. The bottom sheet had lots of tears and holes in it. Not good enough for a three star hotel ! The sofa bed was for our sons use, who said it was the worst bed he had slept on( maybe ok for small kids)
Our bed was lovely, really comfortable and clean ! The apartment over all was nice as are the facilities eg sauna pool etc
Housekeeping needs to improve.

Room Tip: Choose a two bed if you all want a good night sleep

Syayed here last week while working down the south west. I booked the hotel because it had a golf course attached and fancied playing 9 holes after work(only £10). I have to say that i was very happy with my apartment which was £70 pound with breakfast. Kitchen and living room area very tidy. The breakfast was fantastic and i was well looked after by Brenda. Anyone fancy playing a nice golf coarse with great views at a reasonable price cant go wrong. Will be going back in the summer(if we have one !).

We booked this on a special deal of a 2 night stay for a family of 4 with inclusive tickets for either the Eden Project or Paignton Zoo for £150 with extra nights for £50 per night. We booked for 3 nights during Easter school break. This deal was applicable to the Tamar apartments but due to the person in front of us in the queue moaning about the locality of his fellow travellers we had our rooms swapped and we were moved to an upgraded Willow apartment which meant we had a dishwasher, iPod dock and Wii console. The apartment was fine, well equipped (apart from a colander) and clean. Only downsides were the sofa bed in the lounge (kids had twin bedroom) and the noisy heating. The sofa bed wasn't quite a double size and was very uncomfortable, we ended up taking the mattress off and putting it on the floor. The heating seemed very intermittent and noisy when it clicked on, sometimes the heaters were on, sometimes they were off, there didn't seem to be any programme to it, and it woke us up several times during the night. We mentioned it when we checked out and they said they would look into it as it shouldn't have been so noisy to have woken us up. That aside it was great. The leisure facilities were some of the best; a good sized gym, 25m swimming pool with a permanent swimming lane, a separate over 16yrs spa area with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and rest areas. We ate in The Brasserie which had a choice of menus for adults, 'big kids' (12-17) and under 12s The food was reasonably priced but I felt the drinks were slightly overpriced - 2 pints of lager a coke & lemonade came to £12. Where as 4 burgers and chips for a family of 2 adults and 2 teens came to £30 and a good sized portion.

We would definitely stay here again for location, service, facilities and value. I have stayed in some 4* hotels that aren't a patch on this, especially where the leisure facilities are concerned. Good for families as something for everyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from The Farmhouse restaurant if you don't want to be woken up by the recycl...
