Ate for first two nights of our stay after booking late on Laterooms. Brasserie was lovely, nice selection including a lovely touch of picking your own garnish with each dish. Some really different fresh ideas which were explained well by the Brasserie Manager who deserves a special mention- a very quirky happy character. Food was quick and nicely presented despite the restaurant being packed.
Ate in the two rosette restaurant on our second night and I cannot say enough about how good this place is. Quality ingredients well used. Tastes infuse in your mouth whilst your eating and makes you crave more. We had the taster menu and im glad we did would have been a crime to miss any of these dishes. Lovely place and great staff.

In five star excellence, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were well trained and very polite. Could not fault it at all.

We were due to stay in a cottage recently and preferred the return 4.5 hour car journey. Completely inconsistent with the resort's 4* rating.

If that doesn't deter you, please take my word if you have young children. It turns out there are no photos of the cottage interiors for a reason, they haven't been invested in since they were built (in the 80's, I'd guess).

On the other hand, if you have a thing for leatherette furniture, it has probably the largest surviving collection...

Went away to St Mellion for a late summer break. Price was good value for money as we opted to include dinner. Had dinner in the Brasserie on the first night and you can pick whatever you like on the menu not like some places where you only get to choose of a daily menu.Atmosphere was relaxed and staff were very friendly. We don't play golf so spent our daytime visiting local attractions with the Eden project the highlight.Leisure center is very big with a proper lane pool , gym looks new and they also offer treatments but book in advance as I struggle to get an appointtement. Rooms clean and well appointed , worth going for superior at £20 a night , Elemis product in the bathroom. On our last night we had dinner in the restaurant and it was well worth the extra , my best meal for a long time went for scallops and lamb Wellington delicious and a great wine list too. All in all very enjoyable stay. We will be back.

Spent 3 nights in the resort in late August on a golf break. Rooms OK, clean towels every day & toiletries. Golf courses were excellent and very challenging however £32 for a buggy seems a bit excessive. Food was somewhat poor you were asked to select your 3 course dinner that evening from a menu of three options . I'm a vegetarian but they did not include this on the menu sheet. When enquiring about the veggie meal at one of the bars on the first day the young girl said there were "chips". Throughout the 3 day stay I was unable to find any one responsible member of staff who could give me a run down of the veggie options, it was all a bit of mess. I did ask for an omelette one evening and it did arrive, just an omelette nothing else, no garnish or side extras, just an omelette, I had to request some chips with it. I did try their veggie burger but have to say it was very dry. One evening we ordered rice pudding but all of my friends said it was very bland and just warm, we sent it back to the kitchen. Another friend tried the cheese board in place of his sweet, there were 3 tiny pieces of cheese some crakers and a few grapes, it was a very poor excuse for a cheese board. Ther were 21 one of us and I don't think anyone was impressed with the food. Given the resort has a 4* rating I think it is a very generous rating.

We have just returned from a week at St Mellion staying in one of the family lodges, I played some golf on a famous Nicklaus course whilst the wife enjoyed herself with the kids in the pool. We had an amazing week with good weather, great food and superb service from the team at St Mellion. If I was in any way critical I would say that the lodges are slightly dated although this didn't bother us as they were ultra clean and very homely. The hotel is brilliant and has all the mod cons including a great swimming pool and gym. On the last night we pushed the boat out and had the tasting menu in the An Boesti restaurant which was simply superb and probably one of the finest meals we have ever eaten and the service was equally fantastic. I can highly recommend An Boesti, not cheap but worth every penny. All in all I can't speak highly enough about St Mellion, we even had the pleasure of speaking to the Resort Director who seemed a decent chap and was genuinely interested in our feedback on the resort. Don't hesitate to book a break at this place, you won't regret it.

This accommodation was very comfortable - large room, nicely decorated with balcony overlooking the 18th green of the Nicklaus Course. Although the room boasted a wardrobe, there were no drawers to put things in. Only choice was to leave things in the suitcase or put them on the floor. Bizarre really considering the room was £110 per night. Breakfast was good - the kippers were to die for!
Golfers - you'll enjoy the challenge of the Nicklaus course, but trust me, it really is a challenge. We also played China Fleet which was also a good track.
