Lovely location on the quay. Typical National Trust menu. Views across to the Shamrock barge and along the river.

I fear many visitors to Cotehele don't realise what's down here. Completely unspoilt wooded stretch of quay with perfectly conserved old buildings. Tea shop in what was once a pub. Great snack food inside or in garden. Delightful.

I have eaten many times at National Trust properties, understand their formula so having looked at the menu I was struggling to finding something I actually wanted! Hot soup (in such hot weather) mackerel ploughmans (no thanks) oh well have to have a prawn roll. What was so good was the freshness of the ingredients, the warmed roll (quite delicious) and the whole DIY part of the lunch. A really lovely lunch thank you, especially the home made coleslaw.

Having visited Trelissick last week I felt I needed to write a complimentary review. The staff couldn't be more helpful, we chose a cream tea with ginger scones lemon curd and clotted cream. There is a pleasant walk along the river which is even nice in the rain with welly boots. Set on the upper banks of the Tamar, when the weather is fine there are tables outside, where the view can be enjoyed. It is very tranquil here.

Set below Cotehele House, alongside the river Tamar, this small restaurant is a great place for a light lunch or afternoon tea. If the weather is dry and sunny, the outside garden makes a delightful setting for your visit or if raining, the indoor seating area is very pleasant. The menu ranges from hot & cold snacks to full meals, all very well prepared and presented.
