An unusual place just a little bit off the beaten track, but a very welcome relief from the cardboard monotony of the chain hotel and the stodgy frozen muck served in their adjoining pub-restaurants.
Room was very tastefully decorated and kitted out with thought and care unusual in any hotel, and most importantly clean and comfortable.
Service was friendly with banter available if you wanted it.
Evening meal and breakfast were good and generously proportioned.
Beer was excellent. Good atmosphere in the bar / restaurant.
Prices were reasonable and certainly competitive with budget chains.

A genuine family run business. Friendly, great atmosphere. Spotlessly clean.
Food was amazing. As a lone female I was made to feel comfortable and at ease. I travel frequently on business and can honestly say I had the best night sleep.
I would highly recommend the Crooked Inn and hope to be back soon.

Good location. The only thing I can say is very average for the price, the room smelt of mould and the extractor fan in the bathroom had obviously been broken for a long time as there was a lot of mould, not great when you have a young baby. Our cups and coffee pot in the room were not cleaned the next day after we used them. Breakfast was average but the overall service wasn't great, they seemed to be in a complete muddle about tables booked for dinner and at breakfast. Everything seemed rushed.

The bedroom was ok, bit expensive, but bathroom just not looked after. Clearly money had been spent on the bathroom but not cleaned to a high standard over time and therefore black mould. The bar area looks pleasant enough, bar staff friendly. Conservatory quality construction but again not looked after and not clean. The cloth that was used for cleaning tables was frankly shocking. Menu promising, but delivery wanting. Steak ordered medium rare, delivered burnt on top. Risotto with Sea Bass, risotto far too much and fish over done. Fair value wines. Hallway to room smells. Entrance to breakfast room carpet greasy and worn. Do not agree with the great reviews, very sad to say.

Such a relaxing and laidback place to stay. A family run business, nothing is too much trouble friendly and very caring. Superb location, hidden away for peace and quiet with gorgeous food and ales - spot the local wildlife too. A perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy the local gym.
