A very relaxing hotel, we enjoyed an excellent High Tea in the lounge, with attentive but unobtrusive service. Equally enjoyable lunch on another occasion. We weren't staying at the Hotel but were made welcome to stay and relax, in the lounge, for as long as we wished.
The grounds are also delightful, we were there in the Spring when the daffodils were a sight to behold. We certainly look forward to returning in the near future.

Having just returned from a lovely stay at Swinton Park I realised I have yet to write a review on this place, even though this isn't our first time here.

Swinton Park is a wonderfully romantic 'top of the range' hotel. Yes it's a little on the expensive side, but if you time it right, there are good offers available and you won't regret paying that little bit extra. We stayed Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Even though we booked the cheapest room they had, it was still beautifully presented, spacious with an enormous bed and a bathroom you could get lost in. The evening food and service was exceptionally good, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We upgraded to the tasting menu and enjoyed 8 courses, all excellent in slightly different ways. It was a real experience and something we will definitely do again in the future.

Breakfast was as expected... lots of choice (almost too much) and everything delicious. The perfect way to start a day. After breakfast we enjoyed a lovely walk in the grounds of the hotel before we departed to find a pub for Sunday lunch (This was only due to a wedding otherwise we would have stayed).

We will definitely be returning to Swinton Park to stay and to eat. It's a very special place and deserves all 5 of the stars I am giving it today.

Reading the reviews prior to going for dinner and stay at Swinton Park for a night, my expectations were quite high. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The location is stunning and the house quite impressive. However, the rooms and bathrooms are OK - I would say average. The fire in the dining room smoked so much I had red eyes the next two days. The meal was presented beautifully and tasted of very little. In fact my dessert tasted of absolutely nothing. Way too pricy for what you get. So, I shall not want to return.

Magnificent! World travellers no more! we found our paradise! Excellent friendly Yorkshire welcome. Professional service with a smile. rooms incredible, food exceptional, location and views to die for. All your wishes catered for! Dog friendly without a doubt even to the free use of wellies and dog towels. Falconry a bonus, private spa unique. We love it here and will be back! Look forward to the new spa in 2014 that will be the icing on the cake! Can we retire here??????? :-)

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday and we could not have chosen a better place. The hotel itself is beautifully elegant and the rooms live up to the overall quality of the hotel and what you would expect based on the prices. Having said that I think the value was good given that the rooms are very large and lovingly appointed. The staff were excellent, all helpful and friendly and really made the stay more enjoyable over the two nights we were there. The restaurant was of an exceptionally high quality, we ate the tasting menu one night and the standard menu on the second, both were extremely delicious and I would return again just to eat here. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a first rate trip away.
