We stayed at the Whilk for 3 nights and it was awesome! I highly recommend exploring every corner of the cottage to begin with. Then check out the cave of the last caveman to live in Scotland. ( ask Donald and he will gladly direct you. It's close)
Donald is very kind and will fully respect your privacy. Oh, he's also a born storyteller so try to meet him!
We would love to visit again and introduce other people to the cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Whilk cottage. The age of the place alone is something to behold.
Waking up to the welcoming view of Ailsa Craig and seals relaxing on the rocks every morning was refreshing. The shoreline on this part of the coast is a nice mix of rock pools, pebbles and sandy beaches which make for a fun walk.
All the required amenities are provided for and Donald was great throughout the whole of the booking. Would recommend.
This is a delightful, period cottage situated on the wonderful Ayrshire coastline. I first stayed here last May when walking along the 100 mile long Ayrshire Coast Path & returned in September to revisit some of the local highlights I had passed along the route.
The area is rich in history & has countless attractions and ‘The Whilk’ provides an ideal base to operate from.
One of the most cosy and character full cottages I've ever visited .Wonderful location with sea views and access to a very private beach. A must for a get away from it all break. Also just 15 mins from shops so handy.
