Owner description: March - Mid April we have 800 ewes lambing and 80 Cows calving so come and see a real working farm and take the tractor ride to the top of the downs to see the ewes and lambs out in the fields. Through the summer we have trips around the farm lasting over 1 hour to see the animals, crops and conservation areas.

It's a lot of fun and it's great to see the lambs and the calves :) I think some people forget that it is a working farm not some sort of adventure farm/park thing, so bring your wellies! Very enjoyable experience for those who don't mind a bit of mud :) Furthermore the staff were very polite and helpful!

“Disgraceful”
Reviewed 20 March 2013

A friend and I visited the farm today with our children, and we were so excited to be going. We were lucky enough to see a couple of lambs born, but also we saw some things that I would never want any children to see ever again.
The staff seemed totally uncaring and unaware of sheep with prolapses and one in obvious distress for nearly two hours wasn't checked by anybody and resulted in the lamb being stuck for a good half hour, then it was dead when they finally got it out. We told several members of the farm team who weren't bothered at all.
The friend that I went with is a farmers daughter who was disgusted by the farm and as upset and angry as I was.
The RSPCA have been told!

I am really sorry you had a bad experience at our farm, I am pleased you saw lots of live lambs. but unfortunately occasionally we do lose one.
We are all very caring and members of our family are on duty 24 hours a day, we also have Vet students learning, most are very keen and quick to learn and help.
Due to the weather this year we have had to put a lot more straw in the pens to keep the ewes warm and dry, but the sheep also eat it which can make them fat and prolapse, we have black prolapse harness that only experienced members of staff can put on. When the ewes are ready to lamb they are normally fine and have healthy lambs.
When a ewe starts lambing we keep and eye on her and keep checking them, as soon as we feel there is a problem we help them as you say we did , if there is a lamb stuck it can take some time to get it out. If we jump in and pull lambs out of the ewes to quickly that can cause problems in itself.
As we are open to the public we have farm staff and others who do not touch the animals for hygiene reason, but they will call some one or let you know who to inform.

“Great experience”
Reviewed 27 August 2012

We visit here very year and my 2 young daughters always find it an enjoyable experience, watching lambs being born, holding and feeding them. We make a whole day of it, take a picnic and eat on the field near the car park or in the barn if weather not too good. The tractor ride is fun and about 1/2 ride up in the hills to see the free grazing cows and sheep plus scenery. Well worth the money and will always return!!

“lambing experience”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

Little to see except some bare and dreary downland and sheep and cattle which can be seen on a walk anywhere nearby rather than via an overcrowded tractor pulled trailer. Unfriendly staff. The whole enterprise seems a rather cynical money making operation.. Overall a very disappointing experience best avoided.
