“A haven in Suffolk”
Reviewed 13 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We stayed here for 6 nights and loved every minute. From arriving to find The Wash House hidden behind massive wooden doors, to seeing the cute cottage for the first time to discovering the area, the whole thing was magical. The owners had left us a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch.

The cottage itself was done to a high standard and had everything we needed. The cute patio led onto a secluded garden so we were in our own little world
The village had shops, pubs (our favourite was the Black Lion where everyone was super friendly and the let dogs in!) and the best takeaway (Wongs). Seriously good food there and it's a pub!

We were in Suffolk for the antiques and villages and were not disappointed. Long Melford, Lavenham, Clare were fab with shops and pubs and tea rooms but our favourite was Cavendish- gorgeous village green, duck pond and the oldest shop in England.

Would recommend The Henny Swan pub for Sunday roast or a drink by the river. Idyllic setting - postcard perfect and they allow dogs!

We went to Southwold for the day and loved the pier. The fish and chips were to die for and we loved the walk along the sea front admiring the beach huts (I want one!). A fab day topped off by the obligatory ice cream...

We truly didn't want to leave and will definitely be back

Thank you Suffolk, you were everything we wanted and more ❤️

(Note neither of us had any phone signal until we left the village. Could be a blessing in disguise...!)

“The Wash House”
Reviewed 24 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Just spent a very nice weekend in The Wash House, a really lovely 1 bedroom cottage in Sudbury. The cottage was totally rebuilt by the owners who also own the property next door that was once a public house. That is still work in progress but you can tell a lot of hard work has gone into it so far. The cottage has been well decorated to a high standard that sits in secluded grounds shared by the main house. Its is pet friendly and an ideal base to explore the local areas or if preferred walks round the countryside. Amanda was a great host, very friendly and nice to speak to. We would certainly recommend to friends and family.
