We stayed here as we were attending a function. The rooms are at the back of the pub and in a seperate block, so nice and quiet. They overlook the pub garden and with views of the meadows and river, really nice to walk along the river here. Now the room had everything you would need, tea and coffe, small fridge for cold drinks, a good sized shower and hanging space for clothes. The only downside to the room was although the bed was quite good, the duvet really really needs changing, it was the thinest duvet I have ever seen. The room was room 1 and this has patio doors to enter the room, now this is fine in the winter but in the summer would be impossible as you could not go to bed and leave the door open for air. The pub is excellent, very friendly and live music on a saturday. On a sunday breakfast is taken in a very good cafe down the the road, about 50yds away, and this was really very good and very reasonably priced. All in all if you want somewhere that is very reasonably priced, clean, with lovely views, good parking and nice pub to boot this may just suit you.

for the price we paid i wasnt expecting much, we only needed a night stopover so went for the reduced rate room, was pleasantly surprised. The pub is very easy to find, on one of the main roads into sudbury but because the accomodation is at the back of the pub we did not hear any noise from the road. We was as i said in the reduced rate room which is attatched to the pub, we was there on a saturday night when there was live music at the pub and the room did get some noise drift thro. tho if you have the tv on it blocked out the pub noise. The room itself was large, spacious, clean and well equiped. couldnt fault it. especialy for £35 for the night, cheaper than a travelodge. we enjoyed a couple of drinks in the pub and sat in there beer garden which was tucked away very secluded and peacefull. will deffinatly use again next time we are passing thro.

oh and the chinese takeaway next door does a great chow mein.
