Visited with friends and family on a very busy Saturday night. A friendly welcome was quickly followed by some wonderful beers. We ate in a barn annexe which was nice and warm on a wet night with a roaring woodburner. Menu was great too with focus on local meats including a Red Poll burger (local Suffolk beef). Starters were slow to arrive but we were warned the kitchen was busy. Starters included whitebait, smoked duck and bacon salad and then following some good, reasonably priced Merlot I had the burger. Pheasant on a bed of mash and Rib Eye of Beef looked excellent too. Portions were generous and overall quality of food quality was excellent. After this we didn't need dessert but someone started playing the piano and added to the great atmosphere so we stayed and had more drinks before rolling home! A great night that got the thumbs up from everyone.
