The title says it all really! My family (Dad, Mum & Brother) & I had an incredible 2 weeks stay on Baros which was perfection from the moment we stepped into the arrivals hall at Malé Airport. We were greeted by genuine warm smiles & many happy birthday wishes (for my mum & I) before a swift and chilled speedboat transfer. After being greeted by yet more incredibly friendly & helpful staff, we were shown to our beach front villas (111 & 112) which were amazing.
The best part of our beach front villas was the short walk into the crystal clear sea & being able to go snorkelling in the beautiful house reef, where we saw everything from the docile & friendly turtles to schools of amazingly colourful fish & of course my favourite the reef sharks (all types grey, white tip & black tip). My dad & I being keen & qualified divers, spent a lot of our time scuba diving with the fantastic dive team (a special thanks to Ronnie, Karin, Kiko & Regis there!) we met some other much more experienced divers on our trips who were very upfront about how amazing Baros was for diving & i whole heartedly agree with them! No matter if your an experienced diver or just want to give it a go whilst on holiday, I would say look no further than Baros!!
We also had a massive amount of fun on our night snorkelling trips (massive thanks to shuga for these as well as the amazing photos from our numerous snorkel safaris!) and i must say these excursions were another truly once in a lifetime experience, do not miss out on them!
The food is brilliant with some truly amazing dishes that I wish I could have everyday! & regardless of which restaurant you choose, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, gorgeous ocean sunsets & friendly service you experience.
My brother & I decided to purchase my mum a spa package for her birthday on Baros and I must say I was blown away by Ron's attentiveness to this by making up a special card for her on our behalf & even organising a flower delivery from my grandparents for my Mum to the island in time for our arrival. Thank you Ron!
However whilst their are a few individuals I can thank, all of the staff on Baros are simply brilliant, they are so kind, always smiling & never fail to greet you with a cheery good morning or simple hello. No ask is too much for them, they will always come through for you :D! (A special thanks goes out to Azeez for our aftershave!)
Another two special thank you's go out to Shuhan & Jimmy for all their smiles & help over the 2 weeks - also thanks for putting up with my dads incessant emails in the run up to our arrival!!
In summary then, as you can see, I do not have a bad word to say about Baros, neither do my family. No matter who your going with, how long your staying or when your going (don't worry about the weather forecasts seriously!!) you will not be disappointed during your time in paradise.

Room Tip: Go for the beach villas, there is no need for an additional pool in my opinion when you have to walk...

First of all Baros is definitely a place that we would return to:)with its carefully thought of concept (from the sandy night bar where u can listen to relaxing tunes while dipping ur toes in the cold sand to the villas that exudes luxury but still incorporating the nearness to nature and comfort) this resort really is everything that i could dream of for a honeymoon. Baros i'd say really captures the meaning of romantic and private in every sense as no guests under the age of 8 is allowed on the island to maintain the ambience. We stayed in the pool villa (room 306)that had a direct view of the sunset and the experience for us was magical. Food wise our favourite was the seafood buffet dinner at The Cayenne restaurant as the seafood were very fresh especially the sweet succulent lobsters and the complimentary dinner for two under the stars on our first night there was a very pleasant gesture by the resort. The coconut ice cream is a definite favourite! However the breakfast buffet can be improved by giving it a variety daily as it pretty much is the same everyday. The reefs are just a stone's throw away which is great and there's so many wildlife around u, with the sharks swimming close to shores and having seagulls fly pass u to catch their meals and then resting on the villa decks(a plus point for nature lovers) was fun for us. Our only regret was not being able to go for the sandbank dinner as it was fully booked and the ones in the day were very dependent to the tide. Last but not least the very friendly and exceptionally attentive staffs that are always there to make your stay the most pleasant experience you've ever had.Special thanks to shijah for always being there to help or just for a chat:)we look forward to come again and will definitely plan for a longer stay:)

Room Tip: pool villa 306 are the best for sunset view

Wow what can we say?! We had an incredible week at baros for our honeymoon last week and despite going in the rainy season had 6/7 days of good weather. Don't be put off by the forecasts, if it does rain it's not for long and it's a tropical island so the clouds pass quickly.
We stayed in an overwater villa but looked around the other rooms, all are gorgeous. The overwater ones were more private and had steps into the sea which was nice but we ended up walking round the island to the beach everyday for snorkelling so next time I'd get a villa on the beach. The snorkelling was soo amazing, such a good house reef we saw 5 out of the 12 turtles that live there, hundreds of colourful fish and reef sharks. Beautiful beaches, sparkling crystal clear sea. You don't need a pool when you have the sea! Gorgeous sunsets, everything is special. Everytime we walked round the island we were blown away. Pure paradise.
The food is amazing, definitely recommend the lighthouse but also cayenne. The prices aren't too bad. Don't go half board it's not worth it. Luckily we don't drink alcohol so didn't have to worry about drink prices. Incredible breakfast buffet! Anything you could wish for complete with fruit and waffle/egg chef. Lovely to sit and see the sharks and sting rays in the water beneath the tables.
Finally a note about the staff who really make it special. Their smiles are so genuine and honestly cannot do enough for you, whatever you require your wish is their command.

I did lots of research on resorts before our trip and honestly don't think you can beat Baros.

We stayed in an overwater bungalow, which was very nicely decorated.
The restaurants were great, but a bit expensive.
The house reef was full of life and the snorkeling was fantastic!
The dive center was very organised and we started our open water diver course there.

All in all I believe it is one of the best hotels/islands of the Maldives.

A small resort that while it is beautiful and has lovely staff, we felt it was too busy and commercial for us. It also lacks a main common pool which we found to be disappointing. If its your first time in the Maldives it wont disappoint you, however as we go often this resort is not for us. We prefer Gili Lankanfushi or Anantara Khivah, The W Hotel ect.

We do however recommend if you stay at Baros to go for the room with the pool. The rooms are large and the infinity pool is gorgeous.
Staff are professional and food was decent and of a high quality.

Baros is a beautiful resort just a little boat ride away from Male airport.
The moment we arrived, we were welcomed to our new home away from home.
There are villas right on the beach or water villas. Just out of curiosity we tried both and we could not decide which one we preferred, we just simply loved them.

Our beach villa was situated right in front of Baros private house reef, so it was the obvious choice to just take the our snorkel gear and enjoy the crystal clear blue waters to explore the other 71% of the world. We were surprised to swim along with turtles and sharks and couldn't have been more excited to snap pictures with our new friends.

As for the water villas it was complete relax, situated a little further from the reef, we were just "forced" to relax- and we weren't lacking anything at all.
Sunset, room service and a nap on your terrace is simply unbeatable.

The staff has been helpful and professional at all times. Food at the lighthouse was incredible- as well as the barbecues that they organized on different nights for their guests.
As for lunch we would have wished for more of a variety, yet enjoyed the meals very much.

Loved this place and highly recommend it to honeymooners or couples that are looking to simply relax without having to worry about anything. Let them do the worry for you.
